I haven't seen any actual mods yet, but it does allow you to load dlls right now. Meaning ReShade now works!

Nope. The most action this game has gotten is some simple retextures of a few monsters. Nothing substantial and nothing lewd.

Damn. a shame since i remember seeing a post earlier about someone finding a way to remove parts of any armor set that got deleted for some reason ig.

wait, wasnt there a post earlier that showed how you could remove bits of an armor set? with that plus retextures, couldnt modders do smthin?

Yo just wanted to pop in and share some information I found
 

For starters, here is the tool to decrypt all the stories 2 files, and get to the .mod and .tex files needed to modify:

https://github.com/AsteriskAmpersand/MHST2-Unpacker

 

from there, you want to install this plugin for blender, that'll let you import and modify the models as needed:

https://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?t=24450

 

then I'm pretty sure you could run the game with all the files uncompressed for testing purposes.

 

To repack the files into .arc to put back into the normal game and pass along as a finished mod, you wanna use these tools:

Theres a .exe inside the dist file that all you gotta do is drag all the modded assets onto to repack them into the final .arc

 

 

Hope this helps, I'm not the best with modding and tbh I was just going to toss a koikatsu model and modify it to work with the skeleton, but I can't 100% promise I won't just get bored and give up

does this blender script let you export or just import? nothing on the fbx forum post says anything about exporting as the correct asset type.

so far all I've found was import, I've been asking Asterisk from the modding discord, and he said he was working on an exporter. He was making one, but it wasn't on his priority, so thats pretty much the last hurdle that would be there

well there is potential when we get mesh modding. as i poke around with model importing ive noticed that the kulu armor has the bare torso underneath. you could probably stitch together a lore friendly nude body out of existing meshes like people did in the beginning of monster hunter world's mod scene
