It's subjective. There's no platforming, jumping, or climbing anymore, which I feel is a huge letdown, but it's all still in the game files and can be modded back in so that's not too bad. The game is more like Resident Evil now. Figuring out where to go and shooting baddies.

Why is it that when I put the archive in the mods folder, everything works fine but when I try to manually archive the files, the preview images don't load up but everything else still works.

The directory locations are all correct with all files present and no changes to the outfit file.

I think there is something weird with the previews.Ā  I can't get them to work properly either.

It's pretty good!Ā  The graphics are a nice upgrade from the first one, and it maintains the mysterious atmosphere.Ā 

The lack of platforming seems to be a problem for most people, but I actually think it's fine.Ā  In it's place there is more combat now

Like Jinx says, it's fair to compare it to resident evil now, with the puzzles, limited resources, and horror-movie like way the enemies can surprise you.

So, I am trying to be the change I wish to see, and using my old knowledge of 3DS Max to frankenstein together a model from a whole bunch of meshes. Now I exported these to Max from Blender as OBJ files. My issue is that I've no clue whether or not a skeleton from Haydee 2 will be applied automatically from the .mesh file I imported into Blender, and it's been a very long time since I did anything with skeletons in Max. If I figure out how to export the final mesh as a .mesh file, would it work just fine and dandy in Haydee 2?https://puu.sh/GRf0c/948d535c4c.png

The outfit previews go toĀ Outfits\Haydee\, they are PNG files with 192x256 resolution.

If you want to see them inĀ game you have to change the .outfit file like this:

outfit "Nude"
{
	preview				"Outfits\Haydee\nude.png";
...

And that's it.

If everything is correct I don't know what to tell you. I didn't do anything special.

Honestly, I barely miss the platforming. I feel like removing all jumping/climbing/dropping down really reduces the eye candy factor since it gives Haydee less reason to jiggle, but the actual game is so much more fun without it. The backtracking is 1000% more tolerable when I can just sprint around the facility instead of doing slow-ass ledge climbing and worrying about fall damage.

Just beat the game. I take it all back; 2 is WAY better than the original. Huge props to the Haydee Interactive devs; all sex appeal aside, this is genuinely a pretty fun game and shockingly good for a small indie title. The level design is a HUGE step up from 1 and it's actually possible for normal people to complete the game without a walkthrough (though some of the interactables are pretty well-hidden, the game telegraphs the rooms you should be looking for them in pretty well). There's also, that I found, no way to softlock yourself other than running out of ammo (bit of a problem since all the guns are completely optional to go and get, and therefore easy to miss), so well done to them for the design there as well.

It's not hard to see why people who for some reason thought the original was the best thing ever might be let down by this one; it's far less Metroidvania, far more Resident Evil remakes. But for the rest of us... phew! Buy this game. Honestly, the porn helps you get through the backtracking slog, but it's totally unnecessary, this is a good game on its face. I was surprised how compelled I was to keep playing, the gameplay loop is tight and solid, the wide-open facility narrows down as you explore everything and approach the ending in a very satisfying way, and there's even an actual story underneath all the tits and ass that's told pretty well through clipboard notes and environmental storytelling. And the ending sequence... wow! Super memorable, well done, this game is actually worth your time.

The already archived files I downloaded, if placed in the mods directory, their previews work but don't if I manually re-archive them so it's really weird.

A workaround is to place them directly into the game folders instead of creating an archive and placing them in the mods folder.

Based on the files that I've looked at it seems like the boobs are just animated to make it look like they have physics, I might be wrong though. It would be great if someone was able to add ass physics though.

Oh ok, maybe we can ask to the devs on steam, they are pretty much open to conversation on mods.

Sadly they are prebaked animations.
