GKM Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 migrating to new file-browser system. http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/258-dmra-colourwheel-lingerie-retextures/ http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/259-mr-ms-more-undies-dmra/ http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/257-candy-cane-dmra-split-retex/ WIPs won't migrate I don't think, what is the "best" way to handle WIPz?
Nihaoma Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Depends on whether or not you want to keep the ability to eliminate the earlier versions, each time you upload a new version. If "yes" = eliminate, I like to use SendSpace for that. Not only do you get a download link to share with people, but they also give you a deletion link as well.
GKM Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Hrm, personally, I like to leave the old versions up, just in case people need them. I was thinking more separate Lover's Lab file pages for projects that aren't even done or if I should just create a catch-all page (like this one) but with the new files system. These Downloads threads are being deprecated. see: http://www.loverslab.com/forum-18/announcement-10-important-changes-to-downloads/
Nihaoma Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Well, it is admirable that you would like to leave old versions available for people...however, that also carries a risk that someone will ask you for technical support regarding those old versions. (at least this has been the case with my experience) This isn't a real problem when the thing that they want done is exactly what the new version was all about...in which case you'd just direct them to download the latest update. But it gets annoying when they want the older version redeveloped into a new direction altogether. "k but i liek teh old wun btr cuz its bbb compatbl"
