About This File

Have you wondered why some of their accessories count as an accessory slot or two, but some of theirs don't? And when they don't, why don't these stay on when you change the hair color?
Well, how about we just take them off?

This file lets you remove following characters' accessories...

  • Murakumo's mask* [wpn11]
  • Yozakura's petals [hr12]
  • Shiki's hairpin [hr13]
  • Minori's crossed hairband and donut hairties [hr14]
  • Asuka's hairtie** [hr00]
  • Katsuragi's hairband [hr02]
  • Yagyu's shuriken hairtie [hr03]
  • Hibari's ribbons [hr04]
  • Murasaki's string ribbon [hr16]
  • Imu's glasses* [pl17]
  • Ryobi's hairties [hr18]
  • Homura's hairtie** [hr05]
  • Yomi's hairpin (both pre and post-transform) [hr06]
  • Hikage's earrings (both pre and post-transform) [pl07]
  • Jasmine's earrings [pl20] and sunglasses* [wpn20]
  • Ryoki's yellow halo* [wpn21]
  • Renka's hairclips/buns [hr22] and earrings [pl22]
  • Hanabi's hairpin [hr23]
  • Kafuru's hairclip [hr24]
  • Sun ce's earring [wpn30]
  • Lu bu's earring [wpn31]
  • Guan yu's earring*** [wpn32]

I know not everyone wants to remove every accessories from the characters, so I labelled down each of theirs' associated folders in [ ], to help you choose which one to not remove.

Following is a little note regarding asterisks.

Spoiler

* These are the ones which could already be removed by activating character selection screen easter egg (use Tab key on keyboard, Options button on Dualshock or Start button on others), but this only applies when you are in-battle. These are here to remove those accessories both in and outside of the battle.

In case of Murakumo's mask, her voice also changes to high-pitched tone when you activate this easter egg, so this one is for in case you want Murakumo with her intimidating lower toned voice, but without the mask (even if it doesn't match her characteristic...).

In case of Shiki's hat which isn't here, go to this post. Other person have done it already and I found it rude to just slap that file in.

** Asuka and Homura appears to not have a seperate mesh for hairties, nor they have a hair mesh implemented in there. so you'll see an awkward gap between their head and ponytail. For Asuka specifically, I recommend to download "Hair 真影飛鳥" file from the Mediafire repository. It's her hair from ultimate ninpo form and that depicts her without hairties better than this does. As for Homura I do not have a valid "solution", sorry.

*** This is a weird one. Guan yu's earring is the only one of the three Ikki Tousen characters' that is glowing throughout the battle. And if you remove hers, you instead have a little glow on her ear for the whole stage. It's because this glow is an effect I couldn't manage to remove. I did spot the .cat file assigning "effect_joint" alongside the models while trying to tamper with it, but uh, no knowledge to change that one. I believe Ryoki's red halo (from her ultimate ninpo) also uses an effect instead of a model.

How to install

  1. Download and Extract the zip file
  2. Assuming your game is on Steam, right click the game in Library then click Manage > Browse local files
  3. Go into 'GameData' folder and copy paste the 'Model' folder you've extracted into there, override existing files
  4. Enjoy

This doesn't add anything NSFW in the game, so I guess this belongs here instead of Misc adult mods?

Ayame, Ryobi and Jasmine's headband unfortunately had to stay on for now. Under these there were no meshes implemented to look convincing at all, it's the Asuka & Homura's floating ponytail situation but worse. If only I could learn export the model and try something about it, but until that day comes, these three have to stay on. See for yourself.

Oh and sure, I could have edited one of the color variation's color to match the default to better emulate their looks without accessories. Except I couldn't figure out how to do that either. There apparently was an attempt in the same thread I mentioned above, but given the way to do appears to be a lost technology, that method is shelved into the basement until I figure it out by myself. So many things I'm missing out because I was too late growing up...
