Cyberpunk 2077

As the title says this will be all about Cyberpunk 2077, mostly my first impressions of the game (after 20 or so hours in) and I'll also have an image of my alt in FFXIV. But first Cyberpunk:

First off I got Cyberpunk for the PC so I don't have to deal with a lot of the worse bugs and glitches, the worst I've had was Jackie not moving and so I couldn't complete a quest which was easily fixed just by reloading my last checkpoint other than that it's mostly been graphical glitches (some chopsticks hovering in front of Jackie while he ate with a different set was a particularly humourous one) which while annoying aren't that bad or gamebreaking. As for the performance all my graphical settings are set to medium (and the game still looks pretty good) although I did limit the FPS to 60 as well as having the crowds set to minimum (which I would have done anyway) so for the most part the game is feeling more like Fallout New Vegas at launch rather than Assassin's Creed Unity and I feel after some patches and a few DLCs it'll be closer to the game that was promised.

As for gameplay, the shooting is fine as is the hacking and sneaking. I've not really looked into crafting, from what I've seen of it it's mostly just there to upgrade certain unique weapons since anything you craft is either in abundance (the healing items, which I have yet to run out of) or can be upgraded on just from random drops so right now it feels the crafting is a bit superfluous that may change later on though. The other main thing I dislike is the driving, the bikes handle alright but all the cards I've driven have handled like absolute ass and given the nature of the game you'll be doing A LOT of driving so this can be annoying, also the driving AI is retarded (in fact a lot of the crowd AI is retarded) so driving in this game really is a bit of a chore. I also feel the character customisation (which isn't actually all that great, I honestly think Bethesda's customisation options are better) is another thing that's pretty superfluous given that the game is in first person and you only see your character in mirrors and the inventory screen but since it's there I'd have liked to see some barbershops or plastic surgery clinics that allow you to change your appearnace outside of character creation. Finally I think it could benefit from more repeatable side activities (street racing, gambling that sort of thing) as everything I've encountered so far is one and done so once it's all gone you're left with a big empty world with nothing to do.

The story from what I've played so far is actually pretty good and has a nice twist in the beginning in regards to Johnny Silverhand, I also like how your origin (Nomad (which I chose for my initial playthrough on regular person difficulty,) Streetkid and Corpo (I have saves for those two on game journalist difficulty just to test them)) dictates some of your dialogue choices and the idle dialogue between V and the npc during quests and there's even at least one quest that relates to your origin. Honestly I have zero issues with a story or characters and those two aspects are why I find the game to be better than it currently is.

So if we're going to give a score for the game as it is now nased on these first impressions I'd say 6-7/10 slightly above average to above average. If they fix the issues add some repeatable side content and some good DLC I feel the game could go up to an 8 or 9 out of 10.

So that's my impressions of Cyberpunk, the game I feel it comes to closest to being like is Sleeping Dogs only worse because I fucking LOVED Sleeping Dogs.

Anyway the image of my FFXIV alt:

Spoiler

She's an Au Ra (yes that's what Au Ra look like in my game, I don't like their scales or horns but their emotes and voices are miles better than Hyur) but I had to change her hairstyle for this shot

Instructive review, covering many aspects of the game without going into spoilers. Endorsed !

As for Sleeping Dogs, it happens to be the game I'm playing right know, and though they could've made an effort about PC commands configuration and explanation, the daily life into that modern HongKong universe, its characters, its believably alive city, its backgrounds, large open world, its varied but deep gameplay (hand to hand combat, gunfights, car driving, all the different mini-games), its plot, all the RPG aspects and even the music make the game unexpectedly immersive and addicting. Hopefully, once Cyberpunk has been through enough patches, it'll end up as something like that, 'cause it's great. :D
