Frustration and a plea for help

Hi Everyone,

This is not a blog entry…

If you’re looking for that, look here (? Also Happy Valentine's Day! ?):

https://www.loverslab.com/blogs/entry/10671-if-you-buy-a-mage-a-drink/

This is a coping mechanism where I vent about what’s bothering me in my Skyrim, try to be funny, ultimately fail, and ask for help.

I’ve looked “everywhere” online for help with these things, but nothing I’ve tried seems to work.  Hope you can help!

Without Further Ado...

If you need more information (like my mod list), let me know!  I really want to fix these issues. They bug me...a lot. Thanks for reading, new content coming soon.

1 looks like a texture mismatch, possibly the normalmap. I think you use fair skin so make sure nothing is overwriting any of the fair skin femalehead textures (just reinstalling fair skin and letting it overwrite everything is a good place to start).

2 is a good ol' Bethesda bug, the UV mapping on the female head is just fucky like that. THIS fixes it.

For 3 you could use Nio pose adjust to move the hands manually. I don't know much about HDT PE configs so I'l let someone else help with the collisions.

To Evenly spreading it across both eyes.  Still might be a makeup mod doing it?  I'm not sure.

For 1 it's a neck seam issue. Those are more or less visible depending on the body replacer you're using. Make sure the normal map and specular map are matching your regular textures (it could be due to the choice of some options in one same texture set, specially for the specular). I have that issue for the elves with SOS male replacer. Tried a lot of different normal/specular maps, and in the end left the default ones, it wasn't that visible and seemingly went unnoticed by readers. And at the very worse, buy her a collar to hide the misery. :classic_angel:

For 3, the animation was done with breasts smaller than your body preset. I have the same problem on reverse with mine (though don't repeat it to Malicia she'll be furious ^^). It's quite normal, just like you have to adjust clothes to match your body if you use custom presets. Either adjust the animation (via Collygon's tutorial, or NiPose Override, Spy's suggestion being the best by far) or adjust your body presets in outfit studio.

If you can't find an SOS texture that matches the elf normal properly then replacing textures/actors/character/DarkElfMale/malehead_msn.dds, textures/actors/character/HighElfMale/malehead_msn.dds and textures/actors/character/WoodElfMale/malehead_msn.dds with the malehead_msn.dds file found in textures/actors/character/Male will fix it and also get rid of the klingon forehead ridge on your male elves.

Most female head textures include a very soft eyeliner:

That looks pretty normal, the main thing is just to get rid of the super black left eye.

Maybe I didn't do it with the _msn file. I might try , thanks for the tip.

The majority of the time neck seam issues that are unique to elves arise from the fact that elves have their own special face normals and mod authors forget about them or "elf overhaul" mods overwrite them.

One note- If you're talking specifically about the Stranger follower none of this will help since that is standalone and also an absolute mess. That's why I gutted it when I used him for a story.

So to Follow up on #1:
Messed around with the file location of the _msn file for Fair Skin and it made no difference.  I wonder if it's because She's a Breton that the "special face normals" are messing things up.  Because honestly it looks like Celena put a lighter layer of foundation on her neck/head than the rest of her body.

Regards to #3:
I may try the Override here.  But I see .gifs (Like GomaPero) with working collisions and I'm wondering what I'm missing to get there.

So do you use UUNP special because I know that for sure has breast collision, the hands also need to be hand special for collision as well.

I'm still using 7Base Bombshell as my body.  Where would I find UUNP Special? (Couldn't find it on Nexus).

Should come with bodyslide if i recall correctly. Your on Oldrim right, if so it should for sure be part of that.

So do I just uninstall the 7Base Body then build the Unified UNP into UUNP-7Base? What the proper method for swapping over?

You don't need to do that, just use bodyslide to build a new body. 7B i think counts as a form of UNP shape anyways.

I guess it's technically possible but generally nothing messes with just the breton normals (as opposed to the elf normals which a lot of mods edit to get rid of the klingon ridges).

Is this problem unique to your Celena preset or do all Bretons have it? Have you checked in racemenu to make sure you don't have an overlay selected with just a teeny bit of opacity? Sometimes they can look like they're set to 100% transparency (so off) but still be at like 95% transparency which can make things look a little bit off.

So this is for All Bretons. Going to show off my inner n00b here. How would I go about selecting an overlay?  Where to look, etc, etc?

If it's all Bretons that's not it but it's in racemenu under the makeup and face paint tabs.
