Oh very nice, can't wait to see where this goes, if i recall lorelei has 2 other quests, the book fetching then the dwarven ruins, the ruins should be interesting for sure..

Screens made with a lot of care as usual. However if I may, I feel the different characters react an think all in a very similar way, they all seem to have almost the same way to express themselves, almost the same libido, almost the same level of intelligence and age (Savos and Tolfdir speak in a very similar way to Lorelei for example)... Interesting plot anyway, and always entertaining to see ! ^^

About the quests... i think you have something confused there

Either you're talking about vanilla College of Winterhold quests that should follow the Saarthal excavation.

Which i don't think i'm gonna do because Lorelei's story is gonna move away from the college for a while.

Or maybe you're confusing my other character Caede's story?

She has a quest to fetch a book and use it to teach the Sybill about love...

although that quest was put on pause since Caede got herself into a "Devious"...situation

And her story is now also paused since i'm busy with Lorelei.

But dwarven ruins... i don't remember anything about dwarven ruins

First of all thanks for the compliments and the criticism, especially the latter xD

I'm aware that my dialogue makes the characters seem alike because they talk similar...

I'm not a good writer, actually this blog is probably the only thing i've ever written and posted for other people to enjoy.

The problem is that i write the dialogue in my own words so everyone ends up speaking like i do xD

I do try to give the characters different personalities but then i butcher it with the dialogue...

I too feel the dialogue is a bit lackluster and it's falling behind the visual part of the story

But it's not that easy considering English is not my native language.

Actually fuck that it doesn't matter native language or not... i was terrible in literature class even with my first language xD

Anyways if you got any advise or maybe some reference or guide that i can use to improve i'll be glad to try it out

Hi PsychoMurder,

I'm no more pro than you at writing stories, but I've done some and made quite a bit of role-play so maybe I have a few tips :

When thinking how a character will express himself frist thing is designing who he is :

— Age, gender, profession, and social class. A young child living in the sewers of Markath will not express himself like an old grandma consellor of the yarl, seems obvious. Most of the time they won't use the same register of language, the child speaking in a casual/simple way, whereas older people will tend to be more formal at first.

— Vocabulary of the character : mostly depending of the age and social class but with specificities reflecting his/her personality. Best example is the way people curse : you can imagine before hand what exclamation they will use in most situation, and it can give a more personal feel to them .

Then, you must imagine what your character would do in each situation she/he is in. For example if I were a 250 years old dunmer archmage facing a young female redguard, I would probably feel like meeting an unexperimented teenager or a child, and feel amused or unimpressed depending on my personality. If I were the young redguard, I would probable feel impressed/curious/overwhemed of meeting such an old an important character, and that nervosity/curiousity could be felt in the way I express myself.

Overall, just think in what way the character could react differently than yourself before letting them speak. They won't always react differently, but that's the first step. The rest will come with experience.
