I have 2 favorite house mods, Lakeview Extended (which modifies the Lakeview manor from hearthfire) and Elysium estate. I am wanting to create a mod that would link the 2 via a long passageway. I play with fast travels disabled so I am interested in make the tunnel to cut down on travel time between my characters properties. In lakeview extended there is a extra download that adds a basement room off to the left of the main basement level, in the back there is a hidden stone door. I'd add a small hatchway that would lead into a underground tunnel that would lead to another hatch in the back courtyard of Elysium estates, probably near the stables or guest house. The distance between the 2 isn't super long so the tunnel would probably take 3 minutes to walk thru it. Would this be an easy creation? If so could someone assist me with it. I've tried making heads of the creation kit and its still way beyond me. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31380?tab=files https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33939/?tab=files making a tunnel that requires 3 minutes of rel time to transverse would be a vary time consuming process most likely requiring more then one cell and linking several load doors, the easiest way <which I have done with lakeview extended and another house> is to add load doors in each house and link them together. The entire process took about 5 minutes including fixing the navmesh so followers could go with me. While not as immersive as actually walking a tunnel, It is certainly much easier then creating a tunnel that will take 3 minutes to walk thru, navmeshing it, lighting it, ect ect. If you are new to CK, I would suggest my method for sure. As for making heads or tails of CK, watch YouTube tutorials, mainly the ones put out by bethesda on the basics of SK, then ones concerning creating player homes by Darkfox 127 since those will cover the linking of load doors and making a basic dungeon <the last part would be helpful if you really want to go with the tunnel part, pay attention to the bethesda vid on optimization since it explains the issues with long straight tunnels.
Neodarkside Posted May 9, 2018 Author Posted May 9, 2018 OK, thats what I kinda thought. So a simple trap door set in the floor of Lakeview extended leading to a trap door maybe in the basement of elysium would be easier.
SmedleyDButler Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Seems fine to me. If there's nothing in that passage at all, then it's probably not worth making a cell just for a boring walk.
