Game Stutter When Music Changes

Hello everyone,

I have a bit of a problem with the music of oblivion. Whenever the music changes the game stutters for like a second or two. (pretty annoying in combat) It is really not that big of a problem, ended up just playing with bMusicEnabled set to 0. I really wanted to enjoy the soundtrack so I looked at other sources and followed this little solution...

and when I set bMusicEnabled to 1 it just made the game waaaaay more laggy to the point it was a chore just to navigate through the menu to exit the game. Setting bMusicEnabled back to 0 made the game work back to normal but I still wanted to try to get music playing into my game.

So the question is there a possible mod that solves this problem easily? Something up with my mods? or is there a solution that could help me out? I got windows 10 by the way and my specs shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah I have oblivion stutter remover and I used the 4gb patch on oblivion.exe and the launcher.

I'm also using LOOT to sort the plugins.

I am using the steam version of oblivion. Steam isn't installed in my C: drive its on another  but my oblivion is definitely in my common folder.

so i had this exact same problem a few months ago and no matter which setting i changed, which codec i used, or whatever ini tweak i made, nothing fixed it... you know what fixed it for me? updated windows 10 lol

Did you disable your lovers esm and esp's and rebuild your bashed patch after moving your load order around?  Did you try starting a new game with the new load order?

 

Lastly, did you reinstall your sound card drivers?  If your direct problem is sound, then this may be the only real fix.  What type of sound card are you running and when did you last update it?
