Desperate and Confused >.< :(

Recommended Posts

Hello angel.gif

So I have been Googling like a freak to no avail.

I have tried the Crash Fixes, Reddit and Nexus forums.

Ultimately I am lost, I have no idea what is causing my CTDs with HTD.

When I get a CTD my crash logs show the following. This is the only crash I am getting.

hdtPhysicsExtensions+0x0000a5cb as well as some other Form ids but they are all either not in TesEdit or more landscapes in Skyrim.ESM.

To add to the confusion this is happening while I am in Falskaar. o.O

I am so confused as to what might be causing this.

I am beginning to think I am just hitting the memory limit but if that were the case would I really be getting this error?

All my mods are up to date. Racemenu, XPMSE and so on, they are installed in the correct order no overwrites and so on. I am experienced in modding which is what makes this so damn frustrating. I can't think of what I might be missing or what is wrong.

I am using

HDT Sitting Height Fix

HDT Physics Extensions

SAM - HDT BBB Bounce v1.2

HDT Floppy SOS

I can provide a mod list if you wish.

If anyone can point me to a solution I will be eternally grateful. Please and Thank you heart.gif

What are you doing when it crashes ? A load order would help.

It seems to happen randomly, at first it only happened in game load but I could get around it by trying again.

Then it started happening when teleporting my followers with EFFs teleport function.

Now it is happening in both those cases in addition it seems to be happening randomly when traveling in the overworld.

For the record the game runs fine save for this single CTD, it is the only one I am getting save the average play too long CTD.

hdtPhysicsExtensions+0x0000a5cb as well as some other Form ids but they are all either not in TesEdit or more landscapes in Skyrim.ESM.

Those aren't form ID's, those are memory addresses.  That's why you can't find them in your ESP's - it's not what you think.  Without attaching a debugger to Skyrim and having advanced knowledge of reverse-engineering resident memory, the crash report won't do you much good.

The hdt plugin should always show up in the crash report if it was loaded, but it doesn't mean it had anything to do with the access violation.  If you want to verify hdt then you have to disable all hdt and go test the game, I don't think that is going to be your problem unless you have some hdt equipped object with bad data in the xml it uses.

I would suggest checking the papryus log, loading the save with save tool and searching the active scripts for anything that shouldn't be active, check running game with memory block logs and see if you are approaching a memory limit.

The reason I was thinking it was HDT was due to the instructions in this post.

If I put a5cb into TesEdit it does come back as a form id in Skyrim.esm. According to that post this is what it is so now I am super confused. >.<

I did not have this issue on my first play through so something has changed. So you are saying that the post is misleading?

Perhaps I am just hitting the memory cap but I don't see how, a lot of my scripted mods are not even running. For instance I disable aroused and only allow mod interaction to affect it, I also do not use the follower option on any mod that has one.

I will try the memory blocks and see what comes up. As far as orphaned scripts I have none as I am ocd about removing or adding mods mid game. That being said strangely enough I have found some orphaned scripts in my saves and cleaned them with Fallrim tools though I have no idea how they even came about.

Without getting into too much detail, the post you were reading is partially correct, in that the form ID's are technically memory addresses.  Where it falls short is that they are DISK memory addresses, not RAM memory addresses.  They are references to where in the FILE to find that data entry, not necessarily where in resident memory it will be executed.  More often than not they will coincide, but that won't always be the case.

I am using Windows 10, I am using the SRLE LOTD Setup as a base and then added some a few Nexus mods and some SexLab Mods to it. I am fairly certain the issue is not Crash fixes as I have played for over 200 hours before this issue arose. I think the issue is likely a memory limit. I may be stuck waiting on Microsoft to fix the DX9 Bug if I want to play with this setup.

Get the Skyrim Performance Monitor from the Nexus and it will show you how much memory you are using as well as GPU and CPU usage. I found I would have crashes if my GPU was running at or near 100% constantly so I made adjustments so it runs around 90% and it has become much more stable.

no worries, i had over 1000hrs using crash fixes before upgrading to win10, thats when weird shit start happening.., seems u are ontop of things .., which could be attributed to all sort of memory problems...

Well I ran the monitor and outside of combat while just running on Frost the GPU goes up to 92% thanks to Windows 10 limiting me to half of my GPUs potential.  I don't think it is the memory limit in most of these cases. I am leaning toward the SAM-BBB 1.2 being the cause because these crashes did not occur until I updated that mod.

Some enb effects can stress a gpu particularly Depth of Field and Ambient Occlusion, turning those off dropped my gpu usage 10-15%.

How close are you to your VRAM limit? High resolution body skins and armors can eat that up pretty quickly when you have a number of npc's that are using them as well.

Something else to consider is are you using compatibility mode or running it with administrator privileges? I had issues a few weeks ago with the CK and turning off the compatibility mode fixed the issue so some changes may have been made to windows already.

Both the ram and the gpu were between 2500 to 4000 so it is getting a little too close for comfort.

I am not running in compatibility mode. I am thinking I will switch to ENB performance because I am using SAM HD and considering most NPCs are male it is pretty hefty when you consider HD armors as well, I am using 2k textures in the majority of cases with a few exceptions on rarer objects. I cannot wait for Microsoft to release that damn fix >.<

I typically stick with 1k textures for landscape and buildings so my ram usage rarely tops 2000 and I have a max of 3000.
