Spellweave armor mod idea

There is a post on page 1001 though that seems to be changing from day to day so here is the post if this cut and paste works. Granted as it is now its still interesting even though its currently CBBE3. Though I defiantly would like to see this go UNP and UNP flat, I do have another suggestion that would require some potentially complex integration.

 

If your unfamiliar with this mod its is basically a set of magical tattoo armor. When you wear it it has a glow to it that wraps around your body. It comes in 2 armor styles but each pattern has multiple colors, red, blue green, flame, purple and so on. When wearing the flame set and "draw your weapons" (spell wise) the armor effect kicks in. The tattoos glow brighter and your body literally emits flames. when wearing the blue armor and get ready you glow and emit a frosty chill look. Purple armor are sparks, red is like a blood mist and so on. Its all created at the forge with simple iron bars and improved the same.

 

Here is where my idea for an enhancement would kick in. The Armor is created the same way, chest, feet and hands at the forge. When you equip them they are entirely invisible making your character in the nude. (and optional idea for it to be one of them extra slots that mods like the adult toys tap into, this would allow the effects to still work and show with your armor on. for this example ill use the nude idea)

 

The armor it self has great armor value to it so don't fret about running around looking nude as making you vulnerable. As you walk along you get jumped by a fierce bear and you want to fry the thing. you select your favorite spark spell and ready yourself. The tattoo armor pattern fades in (perhaps in an lightning pattern across your body) and you start to emit lightning. After your done with the bear your sparks diminish and tattoos fade away leaving you look nude again.

 

As you continue on you get jumped by some bandits and you choose to have some fun and use some illusion spells on them. you select your spells and ready yourself suddenly developing a new pattern of tattoos and emitting the red mist look. Once vanquished and you calm down your tattoos fade. Same idea with the flames idea and all others. I am thinking of each school of magic you choose creates a unique pattern of tattoo and a color of an appropriate kind, green for restoration, white for frost etc. This ready ness glow would immediately inform you of your current spell selection. on many occasions i have went to fry that aggressive bear, only to find out i have the animate player spell chosen. so while I uncontrollably "dance/play" or whatever for the next 30 seconds the bear mauls away.

 

I know linking schools of magic to different armor patterns could be tricky but I still think this could be an interesting avenue to explore. If it was to successfully work it could go into more mods. Those poor fools that want to brawl with you would be sorely mistaken to when you suddenly go unarmed and equip your 6 pieces of spare gear enchanted with 25% unarmed damage increase. Even the swimming animation could trigger a helm switch that you have enchanted with water breathing. Just some food for thought there though.

Maybe a late response, but I really love your idea. Do you have any intentions of going on with this project? Else, if someone has happened already, can I see some results?

It is a really nice idea but i am not sure if it would be possible to make it work without stressing the darn Papyrus VM, and if you stress it the game is going to crash...its what happened to Tryks with his demon-ish race.

Yes Yes Yes I agree tattoo armour is an awesome idea and I do like your idea for the morphing as well. Morphing is cool

I was hoping somebody would suggest making tattoos out of those, so you can wear armor over it.

First you want to change the tattoo from being for example red, to blue, to invisible. For the color swap, you need to change the textures in-game. For the invisibility, you need the game to change the alpha property of the model. Are there ways to accomplish this?
