loopie Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Hi guys Its more of a general issue, but I am using adult modded game and focus is on adult mods as well as screenshots provided, so I feel it belongs more here then in the other section. OK, what I have is some really right down oogly shadows with a capital OO as you see in the screens. I can of course solve this with various options etc. but I have 2 problems in doing so. 1st, my rig aint so great, so running adult modded skyrim is already putting a lot of stress on it, therefore, I had to scale down on certain things, such as terrain, shadows etc. while preserving high quality PC / NPC textures etc. Also had to scale down options such as Anti Aliasing, FXAA, etc. And this is the result. I do not need nor want resource hogging shadows, I don't mind them being blobby and lacking details, just want something maybe blurred or not as jagged without having to turn them off entirely. Something barable, not like this. Things I have tried so far that did not work out at all or messed up my game in the process: 1. Playing with ini files on my own 2. ENBs - too complicated for me, completely screwed up my game 3. Playing with options in the launcher menu - I do not fully understand what here does what, I did get my shadows quality up of course, but at significant performance hit, so had to scale back. 4. Various performance / texture improving mods - had to remove because they also made the character and NPCs too ugly, but I am open minded here as there may be something that I have simply not found yet or overlooked. So I am looking for general advice on how to deal with this, get less jagged shadows, possibly with blurred edges, don't mind them being blobby and inaccurate, but need to preserve or improve performance and need to leave my characters and NPCs alone. So please let me know if there are any specific option settings, ini settings etc. that I could use (or change in my existing ini files), as well as any mod that may help this situation. Swiftstep Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Never hurts to check this. The shadow itself looks good - the forge draws a nice circular shadow on the ground. The shadow on your character is screwed. Please try a mod like Fair Skin or Demoniac (or the AiO HDT pussy), since those are complete texture sets wiht all necessary files, matching together perfectly. As for the ini files: Realvision ENB comes with a guide on a very good setup for those. Not ENB-bound, but in general. Or you can create your own via .. errr... there is a page that creates those files. Forgot the name; a Wikia concerning those files.

Yea, its the character shadows that bother me, and I am already runnign fairskin. that is fair skin + leyenda body for unp with leyenda skin in the screens, i just gave it a bit of tint during character creation. I stay away from ENBs, I can never get them to work properly or at all or even my game at all after trying them out. They're just too complicated and completely not worth it, not to mention, they all try to modify and increase quality of all the stuff I care absolutely nothign about, like terrain, weather, trees, etc. etc. I only and exclusively care for sex mods and the way characters look. it won't do any good if my shadows will be all pretty but the game crashes cause of trees or weather. Only thing I am looking for is how to fix those shadows on the character without a performance hit, but there is nothing like that in that guide. Was kinda hoping someone could tell me some ini values and which settings I can tinker with, or perhaps some shadow mod somewhere that doesnt bloat or try to bloat the rest of the game that I have been unable to locate via google and various thread searches.
darkevilhum Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I had this problem a while back, I kept bouncing between Sharpshooters and RealVision ENB. Noticed these blocky, spastic shadows that danced all over my character. Could never lose them regardless of what ini/enb setting I tweaked. However, recently they vanished entirely when I installed the True Vision ENB. Game looks perfect, so likely the author of that enb did something right for shadows. Example: http://puu.sh/o1BUe/193d0f8e4d.jpg As for your mention of the complexity of ENB's, it's really can be just a -paste in- install. There is an enb setting that allows you to blur shadows, but in my experience it turns out even worse when you start with blocky shadows.

Check these ini files - in the DL section, under "optional files". They can be altered to run without ENB. And they are very stable - thats why the mod has a 100.000 likes. Since you run FSC, and you didn't alter any file in that mod, reflection error can not originate from the texture files. That was it I was trying to point out.

Hi It worked, I used some of the ini settings from the "stable" download and it took care of my problem almost completely. Had to do some experimenting back and forth foe about an hour and a half until I found the right values for my game and my rig, but its great now. Thank you very much for your help, I consider the issue solved.
