hones Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 can anyone help me with a glitch I'm experiencing with a companion mod? I have tried fixing the error myself but I'm not really sure where I should start or what I should be doing tbh I'm not that experienced with modding. The compaion NPC's hair (the fringe/front part) appears set inside the head, has anyone experienced a similar issue before or know what is causing the glitch & how I could fix it.
ljacquard Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Your hair mesh needs to be conformulated to the head you're using. Either your hair mesh doesn't have a corresponding EGM mesh, in which case you need to create it, or your hair mesh was created to fit another head than the one you're using, in which case, you need to recreate the EGM mesh. Here are some links to help you out, I hope : http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Headgear_tutorial http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_load_Oblivion_hair_models_into_Fallout_3 Please be aware that I don't own FO3, but I don't expect it to be any different than for Oblivion or FNV.
hones Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Thank you! I'll take a look at those links and see I can fix it.
Guest luthienanarion Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 You also can't load hair NIF or EGM files as loose files; they have to be loaded from a BSA archive. Once you get an EGM from the conformulator, pack up the hair NIF and EGM file in a BSA and delete the loose files.
ljacquard Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Interesting, I didn't know that. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, luthienanarion.
