Hey, just picked up Skyrim about a month ago, found some mods over on Steam to have a go at it. When I dug deeper I found Nexusmods.com. I wanted a better UI then the on the vanilla came with. Found out i needed NMM or MO, (currently using MO) I got looking for others and I found this site. I really want to use these mods but I keep running into missing actors and dialog, that leads to triggers not firing, CTDs, or infinite load time from a saved game. I really would like to use some or a lot of these mods but im about ready to tell Steam they can have there money back.

Moving to Skyrim section.

Modding is work. No easy button for it. There are tons of resources to learn how to properly install mods. Many have very detailed install instructions to help you. But as I said, there is no easy button. If you are not willing to take time to read and follow instructions, then you'd probably better try to get your refund.

If you want specific advice, you need to post in the tech support sections for Skyrim and you need to read the pinned threads which tell you what information you need to provide for folks to help you.

It's quite overwhelming when you start modding Skyrim.

I highly recommend watching as many of Gopher's Mod Organizer Tutorials to start with.

He takes you through the modding process step-by-step.

They're all about 30 mins or so each, and there's about 11 of them, so get a cuppa tea and make an afternoon of it, it's well worth it.

Even just watching the first few, and pausing his vids, installingyour mods along with him helps understand how it all works.

There's certain mods you NEED as a basic starter.

One's I can think of offhand are:

All the Unofficial Patches (Skyrim, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, Hearthfires, High Resolution Patch)

SKYUI

SKSE

LOOT

For animations, you will need FNIS (Fores New Idles in Skyrim) and will need to run it every time you install or uninstall animation mods.

Choose a body mod (I use Caliente's Beautiful Bodies and Better Males), a skeleton (I use XP32 Maximum Skeleton), a hair mod (I use apache), a character mod (I use Racemenu).

For the animations on Lovers Lab, a lot of folk use SexLab Framework as a base (it doesn't do anything on it's own, but it's a framework for other mods), then choose another adult mod that takes your fancy and test it.

As gregathit above me says, it's not easy, it takes some work - but once you have the basics down and working, it does get easier!

You can then start experimenting with other mods.

Also start using texture mods first. Then go for ENB if your graphics card can take it. If you want to dig deeper with more complex mods that change the game mechanics you will need to do some reading, trial and error, but it's worth it.

Good job choosing MO over NMM. Everything is installed in a seperate virtual tree so theres zero chance of any leftover files with uninstall.

Even with MO, I've had to delete Skyrim out of my computer and re-install several times this past month. Something went buggy even when launching from the Steam app.
