Help using custom race with ECE

hi,

 

 

I want to use PCEA, so I need a custom race.

I tried several races, but when I import my ECE preset, the face does not match.

 

First, I tried CustomRaces ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8720/? )

I tried to tweak ECE config in meshes/CharacterMakingExtender

[Race]

EDID = CustomImperialRace, CustomImperialRaceVampire
SliderIni = commonTriRaces\HumanRaces_Slider.ini
Preset = ImperialPreset1.slot


I overwrote Female*.nif and skeleton_female.nif files , and textures.

But the result is horrible ...

 

 

 

Then I tried to use YgNord from ECE, I get a better result, but the face is too round. (like a younger version of my character, make sense because YgNord mean Young Nord).

I tried to replace femalehead.nif, but no change.

 

 

 

Can someone help me to resolve my issue? thanks.

Didn't like it. Yes, it does transfer the face data, but at the price of screwing up the gamesave.

 

If you're looking for the right headmesh, I recommend those from RAN46. Or try out the Citrus headmeshes (here on this site). Also, don't forget the facegen .TRI files (for the body and head parts) and the skeletons.

I just want to use the headmesh of Imperial. Don't know if it was replaced by ECE.

Do you know where YgNord .tri file are located?

All humans races use the same tri, including YgNord.

But I noticed that Nord and YgNord have the same face with my preset.

 

Oh, it seems Breton/nord/imperial have not the same base face, and height.

 

So, it's probably hardcoded in ESP files :/ .

ECE just doesn't work well with any custom races besides the ygNord race that is built in. I've used Demonica/Lilith and a couple others and they just don't work well with ECE (although the real problem is a lack of sliders).

 

If you're wanting to use a custom race I'd suggest Race Menu instead of ECE. But I prefer to use ECE myself so I only use Race Menu in my MO profiles that use custom races.

Finally I found out. Took me 2 days, but it's enjoyable when you succeed.

 

.tri files are just a collection of .obj file, each .obj is associated to one race.

 

I downloaded these tools http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14589/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D14589&pUp=1 .

 

I used the extractor on FemaleHeadraces.tri , I replaced the ygnord file by the imperial one.

Then I use the creator to generate the new FemaleHeadraces.tri .

 

I did the same with femaleheadbrowsrace.tri , femaleheadmaskleftsideraces.tri and femaleheadmaskrightsideraces.tri .

 

 

Now, my ygNord has the same facial trait as imperials.
