Rayblue Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Newer dll's have more features, thus less performance. Older ones have more performance. Though some newer enbs have been configured with the new dll's to give more performance, but either way, you are going to get a performance drop regardless. Just older dll's have less of a performance drop than newer ones. True enough, as there appears to be a paradox effect where the supposedly newer ENBs are more demanding (to meet current and new hardware) than the earlier binaries.
Buddy Christ Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Can you guys suggest me a few ENB to use with my new GTX 760 OC? Just ENB names are good enough, i can check them on nexus/google. Thank you! edit: Dose newer ddl's offer better performance? My card is an R9 280X and looked at several ENBs to find the one with the best (for my taste ) compromise between looks and fps. Now I am using "Project ENB" (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20781/?) together with CoT plus Supreme Storms, "Optimized Vanilla Textures" (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57353/?) with the textures for the Addons as well. Then there is Realistic Water Two, Skyrim Flora Overhaul Basic Edition, More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fixed - by PuuLoo (in the DL-Section of Project ENB) and the Distant Decal Fix (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31982/?) The result is a good compromise for me: Outside Whiterun Standing at Dragonsreach, Whiterun below Entrance to Embershard Mine

I just copied everything you said and my Skyrim looks so much better.
43deadwood Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Try Pure Weather. It has fabulous cloud with almost no performance impact. Overall much lightweight than CoT but you'll have less ENB option for it Thanks for the suggestion of pure weather - hadn't noticed it before and it's made a huge difference to my non-ENB setup. Love you Flickr pics!

Thank you! edit: Dose newer ddl's offer better performance? I have a 760 (not OC'd) and I use Somber 3. I run the full version but tweak it myself to get better performance. Turning off Reflection, Ambient Occulsion, and DoF in the ENBseries nets more fps. Disabling the anamorphic lens flares helps too. My PC stats are: CPU: Intel i7-490k @ 4GHZ RAM: 16GB GSkill Ripjaws X CL7 Board: ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 GPU: EVGA GTX 760 4GB
kimberj Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I play Skyrim in vanilla basically locked to 30 FPS. I use a 2 year old EVGA 570 GTX HD. It's like a 560ti with more ram. They were really long, but I got the next rev which was normal length. I never overclocked it. If you are filming gameplay you can go down to 24 FPS an if you get used to it, there's not much difference. You know if you wanted to decrease the bitrate so more people could watch. You can also capture high detail just by recording it in 1080 an then encoding it to 720. It at least makes it look like what a game we would play would look like. Filming a ENB run might be hard to capture it, so I jus wanted to mention what I found. The animations are much smoother in 30 FPS versus 24, but it's kind of a decision to lower bitrate or increase film length depending on your storage an how long it takes to upload. Really it depends on what you have been playing on. If you played 24 FPS everyday you wouldn't notice how skippy it is, same for 30, we play on 60 an above an get used to the smoothness. Just have to stick with it an your brain can get used to anything. Using a heavy ENB you could slowly decrease the framerate, an you might not notice a change at all. You know to stop it from degrading performance or frying the card.
