i took a quick look at it.

Its basicly sci-fi minecraft. with a possibility for mmo elements.

they have an item creator function that allows you to create weapons, vehicles and "other objects". though i have no clue on what those other objects are supposed to be.

The game is still in beta and suffers from various bugs, crashes, invincible mobs (got chased by an alien with two axes, he ate over 400 bullets, his health didnt even budge) and probably some other stuff that i didnt encounter.

at the moment the character creation is non-existent. but there is room for improvement.

its a promising start. though i wonder if it will take root in this community

the invincible giant four armed guy is supposed to be invincible, the goal is to cheese it if its the guy i am thinking of when you meet the Martians. not that it didn't stop me unloading a case of load of bullets into him before running lol

yes, i've come to realize this. as i've managed to move passed that point.

though the game is still very buggy. NPCs will get stuck running into walls during escort quests.

and at one point you will have to build a large ramp up to a pair of survivors up on a mountain. when i well built the ramp, and went up to get them. both of them decided that jumping off the cliff was faster. and when i went down again, they where nowhere to be found.

lets say i have to do a lot of re-loading to be able to progress

I built a 16 seat flying bus for those mission, everybody all sit in it safe and sound so no one can harm them till I'm out of fuel, flip it top over and crash landed.......

I been playing the adventure mode only. I can def see the potential for sex/rape mods, torture, ect.

I wont hold my breath until I start seeing some "clothes" mods popping up.

first and foremost the bugs needs to be sorted out and some game mechanics needs to be expanded upon.

Anyone here have kenshi? that game also seems promising. Its supposed to have mod support when it launches too.

I been watching that and it just seems really slow on updates.  I like the idea of the game, but I don't see the DEV team being able to finish it. IMO its a mix of jagged alliance, warband, and stronghold. An idea that requires far more experience to do justice than the DEV has.

I'm still kicking myself for missing the last Steam sale for Planet explorers hopefully they'll have another one. As for Kenshi they have a demo for that you know. While the premise sounds like just what I'm looking for the actual game play made me want to drive a drill in my head.

I think it's just that the Unity engine doesn't allow mods period.  It's not built for it, and in order to use 'runtime' assets, like you would for a mod, the developer needs a more expensive license to get the proper tools.  It almost seems like it was built to be mod-unfriendly to help out devs that make games built on micro-transactions.  It would be hard to regulate the user's game and sell them hats if they could make their own.
