gokuzeny Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I seem to be having a major problem in fallout NV, I keep crashing in primm, seems to only happen outside the buildings and only in primm so far. Now let me emphasize that my game CRASHES with an error, it does not CTD. Any help is appreciated, here is my load order. Â
davidporter89 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 are you using new vegas anti crash from the nexus? excellent piece of code from a master programmer. i guarantee that if it does not stop your crash (which i would bet it will) it will at least give you a log file that can point us to the problem. might want to pick up the stutter remover while your there, i would not even play this game if not for it. MAJOR improvements to every aspect of game-play performance.

davidporter89 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 could you also post the nvac.log and your stutter remover log and ini? also, what version of the stutter remover are you using? it looks like something tried to access a "critical section" while it was already in use, but could be a handful of other things. like a bug in the game, sadly, or a virus modifying that dll. but, how long were you playing before it happened?

how long I played before it happened, as far as I can tell it only happens in primm, the game played perfectly until then. davidporter89 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 thanks for the info. personally, i noticed an increase in performance after upgrading to v 4.1.33 of the stutter remover. is there a particular reason you are not using the heap replacement? it looks like you are running out of memory in primm for some reason. how much ram do you have? is your windows a 64 bit version? try changing "breplaceheap=0" to "breplaceheap=1" and then under the settings for heap replacement, change the 250 to 1024 first, but if you have problems set it to 512.

As for my pc here are my specs:  CPU: AMD FX 6300 six core @ 3.5GHz RAM: 8 GB OS: 64 bit version of windows 7 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 4 GB GDDR5 memory  and which ini do I change those settings in? Â go with the 1024. and defrag that hard drive, i use ultradefrag. even with my solid state drive (i recommend getting one, 40x faster than reg hard drive.), i get alot of crashing after my disk gets out of whack. and to use some of that extra ram you can check out the 4gb enabler, this version launches the nvse. davidporter89 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 also I am already using the 4gb enabler for nvse are you sure it is working right? when i run mine, i don't have a "FalloutNV.exe" running, as it is injected into "FalloutNV.4gb". they may have updated it though, but after telling people this before, the ones that respond back have said they were not using it right. are you launching the game with fnv4gb.exe? i will post the base ini i started with, the instructions that came with it (very important) and also the ini i use in my game. as for heap replacement  http://stackoverflow.com/questions/79923/what-and-where-are-the-stack-and-heap  and stack vs heap in a picture (helped me anyway.)  Â

gokuzeny Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 hmm well I launch it with the fnv4gb launcher I do now know how why it wouldn't be working as I did follow the directions for installing it. also in that tweaked ini instructions he says to change UinteriorCellBuffer and UExteriorCellBuffer but I cannot find it anywhere in the ini and I am unsure of which section to add those lines to.
davidporter89 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 if you downloaded the version at  www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35262/ then i have no idea. check your fallout new vegas folder for a folder titled "exes" and see if there is anything in there. there are 2 spaces in Uinterior Cell Buffer. it's in there.
