It would be really nice to get a "current load order" sticky

Trying to install lovers again... this time, I used the BOSS master list for lovers from the forum in hopes of easing the process... no luck, it seems... sigh.

 

That being said, it'd be awesome to get some sticky going on for all us nubbings to lovers with a regularly updated load order list for lovers mods (if notations on dependencies and incompatibilities were added, even nicer).

I have worked on this on and off but the problem is there are several plugins that are mutually exclusive (doctors and tamago just to name one). Compound that with things that keep getting updated and require new dependencies (recent example of victims requiring slave trader) and things get out of hand really quick. My recommended load list soon started branching all over the damn place and became incomprehensible. I don't think a list will work. The best solution is via an installer that if you select a mod that competes with another it deselects the other and its dependencies. This type of scripting is way beyond me.

 

I would love something to be done but am at a loss as to how to tackle it. I don't really enjoying typing the same things to folks but don't see any really good solution at this time

I was always against boss sorter. since you need to have just one mod active that boss don't recognize and your load order will not be placed correctly.

 

There will never be 1 magic tool to sort everything for you, once you realize that it will be major step forward. boss could only ease the pain but still you will need obmm to sort the rest boss messes up.

 

As for sticky, there already is, it should be in this one.

If you are new to loversPK.

 

This is probablly the load order you should start with. Get these mods working right, then add only one mod at a time after that.

 

Slowly build them up, get each one working right b 4 trying another.

 

There have been so many code monkey's, and that includes me mucking with the Original mods, few are making a fully there mod, they take other mods, and modifying them. This really makes it hard on new LoverPK user's.

get those working right, then slowly one at a time add the others that you want. Jumping in and grabbing everything that looks good, and trying to make it all run when you have not really sorted out which ones work well with each other will only frustrate you.

You will soon have them all running or at least all of the ones that work well with out conflict's. It just take's a little planing, and time.

I do not use Bash Patch, or any other load order helper, I do it my self. They will help sometimes, but they can also screw you up big time. I do use OBMM for archive invalidation, and moving files up and down in the load order.

 

I do use Wrye Bash to check for load order problems, when listing master you will see the delinquent files listed, this normally means they are out of order, or missing a file that is required for them to run.

 

It can be in that way very helpful at finding problems for you. But I recommend fixing them your self.
