wex969 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 skyrim is a cool game but one thing really need a change. the combat. sure there are mods out there that "enhance it" a little but i have tried most of them and i'm not impressed. if you could incorporate an Assassin's Creed's combat style or something close to it, that would add immersion and would keep the game lore friendly. that my take. but seriously even with mods skyrim's combat system needs an update.

So to keep Skyrim "Lore Friendly" you want to add the ability to jump to and from buildings, flying through the air towards your opponents back, and stabbing them in the neck? The combat in Skyrim is not bad, it is just realistic, meaning you don't jump around and do back flips just to stab your opponent.

Acrobatics and levitate were awesome! I miss those skills.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Those types of acrobatics would only be believable with the more agile races such as the Elves and Khajiit big brutes like nords hoping around like fairies would be immersion breaking and totally not lore friendly.

Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 *cough* ... uhm ..... *cough* ... what do you mean with "not impressed"? ... maybe ... you, uhm ... didnt check out ... the... well ... the right mods? ... maybe... someone like.. uh... over here... came up with... something... you know ... uh .... innovative, amazing, awesome, superior, berserk-style-thingy-stuff? well, in short: LOOK AT MY SIGNATURE!!!! (oh, and for the "assassins creed combat style", you know, that was done already. the game was called "assassins creed" ) (ps: the last line wasnt to mock you, but i guess you have not the slightest idea what for a shitload of work that would be, if its possible at all)
Duoleb The Chosen Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 this game lacks a proper Throwing weapon or Spear

Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Sounds to me like you better start learning how to mod then because your standards are obviously so high that only you will be able to make the mod meet your personal standards. P.s. If I want Assassin's Creed style combat I play Assassin's Creed I happen to have all 7 of them.
wex969 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 I used to mod oblivion but i dont have the time anymore if someone out there would make this mod it would be then next big thing
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I used to mod oblivion but i dont have the time anymore ... suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure
hryh23k9823u Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ask for a good combat mod. Uses Assassin's Creed as an example. Too obvious.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ask for a good combat mod. Uses Assassin's Creed as an example. Too obvious. to add to that the AC combat system isn't actually that good, sure it has gotten better compared to the original AC but it is still not as good as it could be. Next they are going to come asking for a combat overhaul that is based on Metal Gear Rising Revengeance's combat system.
wex969 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 hey why not i'd try it it out if it was made and don't tell me you wouldn't
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Having played MGR R I can't really see a combat style like that in Skyrim especially considering your character would have to go barefoot all the time to pull off the grabbing the blade with your toes and swinging it downward. I happen to like my HDT high heel boots
Vioxsis Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I would just be happy if the combat was collision based instead of using gun mechanics...
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I would just be happy if the combat was collision based instead of using gun mechanics... If we are talking bout the MGR R combat system that wouldn't be an issue since the MC for that game only uses a High Tech Katana.
hryh23k9823u Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Dark Souls combat would be the real deal. But meh, there is already a Dark Souls (and soon Dark Souls II). Other games have good gameplay, Skyrim has great modding capabilities that improves it's default gameplay at your own tastes. And porn. I'm personally happy with that. Also, need to try Ragna's stuff already :v

Was just about to install MGR R, the pc version comes with all the DLC so i'm hoping to play through it pretending to be grey fox. But i was on about skyrims combat, swing any weapon and even if it passes through a npc it wont hit unless the cross hair is on them.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 You can play as fox once you get enough BP to buy his armor and sword but the sword is damn expensive (200,000 BP)
Vioxsis Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What?? you mean i have to play as regular raiden until i can buy it.... There isn't other thing you can buy is there, like new combos and abilities? 'cus if there is it just going to end up like bayonetta were i ended up buying new outfits even when i know the other stuff would be more useful...
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 there are some unique bodies for Raiden that you can buy and some that you have to earn by playing the VR missions and most of your abilities you have to buy using BP like when you get a new weapon. Fox's sword is so expensive because it's godly. fully upgraded it can kill most enemies in one or two hits because it cuts right through armor. I think the only sword better then fox's is Sam's sword.
