FNIS 4.1 Experimental: Can it solve some Load Game CTDs?

Recommended Posts

Unlike some here, while I experienced CTD's on load sometime, I was using XP32's latest skeleton, so I thought to try the experimental patch to see if it would reduce CTD's. Unfortunately, I've seemed to hit a bug with the two combined that causes random CTD's when checking inventories of companions using AFT and just looting bodies, so I backed down to 4.0.2 Stable and tried the Rough Animation Skeleton posted here on LL, I haven't had a crash like that since, so far. I'm NOT blaming Fore or anyone else, it may just be a combination of the mods I'm running and something else.

There is a bug in version 4.02 somewhere. I am using a legal copy of Skyrim, install to Steam path. Yet it keeps telling me its not a legal version.

To prove here is a screenshot, so no one can cry fowl.

**snip**

It's actually a known Issue Ark,  it's in that first sticky post on the nexus page, comment tab.

Known Issues:
  • Unjustified "non-Steam installation" warning: start the Skyrim Steam Launcher once. If this does not help: read the FAQ. Note: the generator result is NOT affected by this warning.

Oh yeah, and as an update to this... I've been getting quite a few crashes-upon-loading, so for now I'm usually loading a very simple save file and then loading my main one. I find I save some time like that, instead of loading it straight and having to reload the game again. It might be only 30% or so, but it's still annoying, so... that's what I'm doing now, and this is with 4.1.

Also that warning can be caused by a fresh install of skyrim that has not yet been started and played via the normal launcher, as steam wont generate the required registry files until afterwards.

In case it is important... I installed 4.1 today and I am getting this warning

>>Warning: 1 non-FNIS behavior files in meshes\character\behaviors. They CAN be the cause of Skyrim incompatibility:<<
0_master.hkx

Except.. I do not have a 'meshes\character\behaviors' folder, much less that hkx file inside it.

Edit: Found it... must be a typo :)
