Competitor for Skyrim

Recommended Posts

Not even Avowed is a proper Skyrim competitor let alone The Witcher with mods. They are still provide far too different of a core experience to consider them as opposition for one another. Carnal Instinct is closer though that game still does its own thing.

I think rather than making adult mods for already existing RPG games devolopers will make RPG adult games. And when those Adult RPG games get modded by users, that way a game can actually pass skyrim since devolopers will also help modders to create adult mods in addition to the adult content created by devolopers of the game. Yet Who knows when such games will be published or be common among players.

Nah i don't think so. Part of the reason adult modding works so well in Skyrim is because the protagonist is a blank slate so you can mod any scenario and aesthetic into the game and have it fit perfectly. Witcher 3 by design can't compete with this unless they created an entire new game mode where you can play as your own custom character and somehow redid all the voiceline so your character still isn't getting called Gerardo The Riverman, but what are the odds of that? They already released "mod tools" for Cyberpunk and it was a complete fucking joke and they're already fully transitioning to Unreal Engine so why would they spend time and money at this stage to create an extensive mod tool that is even remotely comparable to the Creation Kit? Even the "next gen update" was riddled with bugs and i'm supposed to believe they can nail a project 200x harder than that?

Bottom line, i'll believe it when i see it but until then Skyrim is the undefeated champion. Even Fallout 4 couldn't beat it let alone Bitcher Three lmao.

Interestingly, new solutions are being tested in Skyrim, but so far no one has figured out how nudity and sex can be an element of games.

For non adult gameplay, witcher 3 is a better game that is well easily established by now.

Playing anyone other than Garualt just won't work without massive overhaul of the game just does not seem worth it.  Are there any story addition mods anyway for it, doubt it.

Which is really the only point of this sort of discussion bringing up W3 again considering it's been discussed many times by ppl more competent at nodding than I.  Where are the story mods by community maybe then you have something to add in adult situations.

Other games?

Well maybe in a more general sense clearly you can find some decent adventure games with nodding potential but at this point nothing is going to replace Skyrim.  A lot ppl don't want to hear it but Starfield won't come close to Skyrim for at least 5 to 10 years and that's if you have the members of the community that understand the coding to insert frameworks and animations!

Fallout 4, it's been how many years since what nov 2014? Alright 9 years now, is AAF as good as sexlab?  Nope.  Is there a good third person overhaul for Fo4 like "True Third Person Movement?  No.  How about Smooth Camera?  Nope.  An Fallout 4 would actually be a lot more fun to play with those mods since you could then actually experience the game in third person at all times, basically in combat.  How about a SkySA or MCO modern combat overhaul? Nope, but why is it not been made yet?  Fallout Universe has really good lore for melee builds, well it comes back to animation behavior an that so far has been handled through AAF, still don't have something like FNIS, Nemesis, DAR/OAR to alter the animation behaviors or insert alternate animations in real time.

I think the reason why is just that maybe the mod authors themselves would wonder why in the world would you actually play a first person shooter game in third person.  Well I would like to but the right now the only option to do so elegantly is VATS, and really that sucks.  How about a proper 1st person even for a mostly first person game?  Oh right it does not exist for fallout 4, so basically the player has no body in first person well that sucks an it's been nearly 10 years!

Gotta really wonder about that

Seriously?

No proper third or first person overhauls to speak of for Fallout 4?

But not only do the pin ultimate versions of those exist for Skyrim but heck you have several options available!

So either people think we'll no one actually wants those systems for F04 or maybe they falsely think that what is there is good enough but more likely it is just not possible.  A real shame because the Fo4 scene has some decent movement with other non adult mods such as story content like Fo3 dlc conversion, SIMs Settlement stories, and confirmed in March we getting Fallout London a whole game basically.

On the adult side you have Nuka World mod.

We are unlikely to see any any competitor for skyrim in near future. Even Elder scrolls 6 will not be able to pass skyrim when it comes to adult mods I think.

I don't know about that. Elder Scrolls 6 will be using the Creation Engine II. Skyrim uses The original Creation Engine. It won't take much to convert existing mods for Skyrim to use in ES6. I think you'll see it surpass Skyrim for adult mods within a year or so.

On a side note, I don't understand why, based on how successful Skyrim has been, why there aren't more games that are similar. All you see in RPGs these days are those top-down Diablo-like RPGs. Which I cannot stand playing. Always something that has baffled me.

Unknown adult game won't replace Skyrim, since mostly you won't get enough modders for it.

Fallout 4 is not replacing Skyrim, mostly because the mods that would be awesome to haves are not materializing as of yet.

Starfield is a direct regression of Bethesda growth, hey they actually grew with Fo4 and had enormous backlash for it, that is why we have Crapfield that is claimed to be a return to form for Bethesda and you know what?  It fucking is.

Oh sure there is a lot of new politics in it, and to top it off have you noticed the way the NPCs basically insult the player?

I find it unlikely that Starfield is going anywhere and even if it does again it will be 5 to 10 years for some nice mods.

An any game that is going to directly compete with Skyrim is not only going to have to have full modding capability but it will have to be a wowzer of a game and why because it will attract the mod authors.  Then still need years of mod dev time.

I think that now, with the help of AI, creating games on your own will be easy and instead of creating mods for Skyrim, people who know this issue will start creating their own short games because it will simply be more profitable for them ( or not) . But as it happens in business, maybe he can earn millions 🙂

Or some super girl who plays porn will tell him at some sex fair (where they invited him to show the game at some stand): "I saw your game, I liked it very much 🙂

I hope you are right and I'm wrong. Even though I have doubts about it.

It goes in phases.

For a while EVERYTHING was a first/3rd person RPG the likes of Skyrim, even games that shouldn't have been. Then a Diablo style was popular so everyone started making those again. With the success of BG3 we're seeing a rise in turn based party focused RPGs again. We'll probably be back on the Skyrim type if Avowed is any good.
