Demonwise Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 So first off, I apologize if this is already answered somewhere. If it is, if someone would be kind enough to direct me to that thread it would be appreciated. On to the question. I am wondering if someone can point me to the proper files needed to import/export skyrim nif files that are compatible with Blender 2.49. I have done some model work with Oblivion nifs so I don't expect that the import/export process is much different, I just don't have the updated tools to handle Skyrim files. Also if anyone is aware of any major changes to the import/export process with Skyrim's nif files in Blender would they kindly elaborate upon these changes.
gregathit Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Moving to Skyrim section. The Modders Resource section is for posting resources for other modders to use, not to ask questions in. The latest import\export scripts (that I am aware of) are included in portable version of blender (just unzip and use it - nothing to install) here: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/42755/? Use the Blender Portable 2_49b by Room207 Scripts2_5_9 In order to be able to actually import anything into blender from skyrim you have to first use nifskope to edit things, save and then you can import it. Not sure if this video is the most up to date but it should help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-FfbwF08Iw This tutorial may provide even more relevant info: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Converting_an_armour_to_another_body_for_Skyrim
ZaZ Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 There isnt Any Tool Per say , Not yet. You would have to change the Version Number of the Nif File and Delete a Few blocks , Import in to blender change and Modify . Once done Revert back into the Nif Version used by skyrim and use the existing shader and or Skinning Properties from the games original Nifs Thats the general Work flow http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/5639-creating-skyrim-armor-in-blender-tutorial-series/ http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1 Cheers
