Do I need some kinda mod that makes colony animals list as colonists or something? Funny thing is though, I could start the ritual anyway, with no animals. It would complete and I got a positive score despite nothing interesting happening.

How could it possibly manage to do that lol I just narrowed it down to this mod by process of elimination and testing. The error messages don't seem too bad, so I don't know why

This mod has, so you are likely not using this version or using an outdated ideology mod ontop of this one. either way, wont know because of no hugslog, ctrl f12 in game.

Works fine for me now Anyway, gangbang doesn't seem to work for me.. although is it even this mod that adds it? I can't for the life of me positively figure out where it's from lol. The title of the rite is actually blank, but I can see the button, although pressing it doesn't do anything.
