Wicked Whims May11th only showing settings, not the actions and missing most texts

Ever since the latest update the text is invisible just how it is in these pictures, I have tried deleting and re-installing, deleting the save setting, then deleting saving the game and re installing as recommended when searching ways to fix it but still not showing some texts and not allowing anything but to edit settings. Some actions can still be used but mainly only solo ones for females in specific spots so it's not completely broken just partly.

 

Maybe one of these animation packages are out of date? I just downloaded everything from the LL WW sections, still I wouldn't think it would make the text fail to appear?

 

There are no duplicates or Last Exceptions to be found so i am just lost on what to do now, any help would be appreciated.

Remove the file that's still zipped and the text file. Things other than .package files can screw up the game because it is trying to read a file type that doesn't work. Remember to delete the localthumbcache file any time that you make a change to your Mod folder.

Missing WW text is usually a sign of having another copy of WW somewhere else.

 

I noticed you have MS OneDrive installed and it causes problems with Sims4 Mods especially WW.

OneDrive might have another copy since it's a cloud backup and it likes to sync up with your Documents folder that Sims 4 is located in.

 

Make sure OneDrive isn't linked to your Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folders.

Or uninstall it if it's not being used for anything important.

I was hoping that would fix it but nothing changed, thanks though One Drive is deleted lmao I didn't even mean for it to go there. TURBO is what all versions are named right? I only got the script and main mod named TURBO in the files. It's weird I thought more people would have issues with this update but i can't find anyone else with the same issues.

As long as both files named TURBODRIVER have the same file dates they should be the matching files that work together.

 

What frequently happens when ppl download Custom Sims they often include parts of other Mods like Wicked Whims so they end up with another duplicate or an older version.

 

Make sure your Mods folder is in: Your Username/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/WickedWhimsMod ( 2 files named TURBODRIVER one .ts4script & one .package)

 

The only other reasons for missing text I can think of is and outdated UICheats Extension Mod or a Translation that hasn't been updated to the latest version because WW 1.69a/b changed some menus and added some new ones.

 

I'd also try doing an Origin/Steam Game Repair since you've removed OneDrive.

UPDATE: Fixed

 

In case anyone else has a similar issue i went through and categorized by date: narrowed down to files in 2021, WW worked fine with all other mod folders now i gotta find out which ones make it unusable.

I have no fucking idea what these are and i am so happy by luck i placed weird names in a folder and one of these break WW hardcore. I really don't wanna go through each one right now but in case a CC needs one of these i guess i will have to eventually.

Yeah i narrowed it down to handful of random files from 2021 and posted a picture in case someone else has similar issues to delete the file, it's to be expected when i download large files filled with CC for one sim and tossing it all in one big mod pile.

This one has been a known problem for quite some time now but it's more difficult when we don't know what files ppl have in their Mods.

 

No idea about the other files other than AllTheFallen_Children_Tuning is part of a child porn Mod.

 

Whenever you add new Mods/CC you should put them into a new folder named TEST or Probation after checking them against what Mods/CC you already have installed.

That way you won't get duplicates and if problems start you then know where to start looking.

 

This is why it's important to keep your Mods folder organized by using folders for Mod Names and Categories.

 

Mods/CC Body Parts

Mods/CC Clothing

Mods/CC Makeup

Mods/CC Shoes

Mods/WickedWhimsMod

Mods/WW Animations

etc.

Okay yeah i saw the creepy name and thought it could be something as disturbing and just remove it anyway, I can't even think what could of had that in it's CAS files. I have 12,000+ mods from just downloading LL free sims the past couple of days it is a metric fuck ton to organize lmao.

When downloading CC it's always worth to take note of the size of the file you've downloaded.

If it's a piece of Custom Content, and not a mod, then it having the size of tens of MB is a usually if not always a major red flag.

No problem as new users of Mods often have to learn the hard way because there is no better teacher than experience.

Plus there aren't any manuals that explain everything.

 

If you note the file sizes, as Husk mentioned above, you would see the file I mentioned was quite large for just a cc makeup highlight.

It has other files inside it that were merged together into one larger file and this is a whole new area about learning what Merged Files are about.

 

Many CC Hairstyles that are Hi-Poly (Alpha) type are much larger in file sizes so don't be too concerned with those.

 

But CC Makeup, Clothing, Shoes, etc., are the ones to watch for unusually large file sizes.

 

I could Merge all my CC Makeup and upload it for example and now you'll likely have duplicates of some of the same makeup you already have installed.

Duplicate files hidden inside Merged files can't be detected with any programs unless you look at them using S4S(Sims 4 Studio).

It will open the file up when you select it and then you can see any/all of the hidden files inside.

 

The next thing to watch out for are Default Skins, Default Eyes, Default Body Parts, etc., as many custom Sims creators might use them or use different ones.

But your only allowed one Default per slot(item) or it can make your Sims look odd, become invisible, etc.

Personally I just avoid anything default as I already have my own favorite Default Skin installed.

I can still use CAS to apply a Skin Overlay in the Head/Face/Details Menu on top of it without issues.

 

Probably way too much info at once but there are just so many things to be aware of with downloading and using Mods/CC.

Modding Sims 4 is simple but...

I noticed that your Resource.cfg file is in your WWAnimations folder.  This file needs to be moved to your base Mods folder.
