I'm new to modding the sims, I unzipped the rar and put it into mods, but I cant find them in my library, also, do I do anything with these weirdly named files?

Hi! The .package files in "Mods" folder goes into "Mods" folder in your "Your PC > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods". The reason why you can't see them in your library is, these files starting with "0x-----" are called "TRAY files" which has to go into your "Tray" folder which is also located in "Your PC > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray". After that, when you run your game, in the main menu, go to "Options" and then select "Other" from the options menu. Then, click "Enable" to "Enable custom content and mods". Finally, restart your game and when you are in Gallery, there is a button on the left side which says "Advanced > Include Custom Content" and that's it, they will show up

Lovely as always!! There is a problem with Elliot though and I'm unsure what the problem is exactly. He appears like this in-game, in CAS he's fine.

 

Also minor suggestion with the CC folder, I'd think it be great to have different folders for like clothing, hair, accessories etc in case someone wants to remove something from the sim/their CC folder.

@Acornins Hi and thank you for your kindness! ♥ You may be missing some of packs, that some cc depends on the pack, leading to this issue? Is it only happening on everyday outift (guessing by the outfit you're showing)? If it's happening only on everyday outfit, it's probably because of the some outfit. If it's happening on all of his outfits, my guess would be his hair or a piece of his makeup/nails/eyelashes (can be earrings too).

 

To be able to find this, you can remove his outfits and accs one piece at a time. (If it appears only in every day outfit). Then, if the issue still exists, you can change his hair in CAS, then go back into game and see if it's still there. If the bug is still there, you need to remove his makeup from CAS one by one to see what's causing this. For example, remove lipstick, go into game. Remove eyelashes, go into game etc. as one piece at a time. That's how i do if it's happening to me.

 

My CC folder is around 300 GBs and it's beyond categorizing. If someone wants to remove X cc or Y cc, it's up to their preference.

No worries, apologies for the trouble! I think I got it figured out! (it had been happening on every outfit)

 I was able to narrow it down and the ddarkstonee_obscurus_sclera file is what was giving the issue. IDK if its a only me issue but figured say it here anyways.

 

\o/ now to resume my download spree of your sims....this save is gonna be hella cute and nice looking.  I look forward to seeing more femboys! Esp long-hair ones <3. Thanks again!

Glad you figured it out  @Acornins But are you sure it's the issue? I use that cc on %99 of my sims (it makes eye sclera whiter, darker etc.) and haven't had any issue with it ever.

Whenever I load up Ash it comes up as a blank sim and says im missing stuff. how do i fix this?

Hi! Please follow these steps while trying to install any sims to your game  

 

When you download a sim as .rar file and open it after download, you'll see a screen like this (photos are example):

 

 

 

? The files with 0x.... goes to your Tray folder, which is in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray

 

? After putting these into tray, open the Mods folder which is in the .rar file you've just downloaded.

 

You'll see a screen like this:

 

 

 

? These files are package files and goes into your mods folder. Mods are located in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods

 

? Put these .package files into your mods folder. Then login to game.

 

? After that, you need to enable your Custom Content. How to do that? When you run your game, in the main menu, go to "Options" and then select "Other" from the options menu. Then, click "Enable" to "Enable custom content and mods".

 

? Finally, restart your game. Run the game again. When you are in Gallery, there is a button on the left side which says "Advanced > Include Custom Content" and that's it, they will show up. From there, you can search sims' names from above and place them to any household or start a new.
