LordVladek Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 I need to replace footwear sound for females without affecting males. Specifically Archmage boots- "LightBoots Sound" into "Barefeet Sound". Also how do you go about adding HighHeels sound to vanilla shoes? Like for this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27527?tab=description
chaimhewast Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 You can't have separate footsteps based on gender. If you want women's footsteps to sound different, it has to be a separate armor piece. As far as adding the high heel sound: Have Heels Sound installed. Open SSEEdit and ensure that at least Heels Sound.esm and the plugin with the shoes you want to modify are loaded. Find the armor addon for the shoes you want to modify. Right-click on it in the left pane and select "Copy as override into..." and do a new file (you probably want an .esp with the ESL flag). Give your new plugin a name, and then add Heels Sound.esm as a master. Once done, open the overridden entry and scroll to the bottom. Change the footstep sound to AngelFSTHeelsFootstepSet in the rightmost column. Repeat steps 2 and 4 for all remaining shoes, except you want to select the file you created the first time instead of creating new ones. Just as a heads up, that mod has a standalone version that leaves the vanilla shoes intact but lets you convert them into heels at a tanning rack. It even has a Heels Sound version.
anjenthedog Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 For the silent foot ("Barefeet") thing, you might get away with applying a muffle enchantment on the boots. (which can be done the old fashioned way, or by using the shortcut of Project Proteus and likely other mods with similar capability)
