Guest Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I have a serious issue with New Vegas. When I exit a building to an exterior cell the game crashes most of the time. Only if I reload about 5 times can I actually get it to load. I would appreciate if anyone could take a look at my load order and identify the culprit. johnmcderp Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 The same problem happens to me occassionally as well, however, it seems that the game crashes right after I have saved the game, because once I restart FONV, my latest save is the game's vanilla autosave whenever I load between two places.
BruceWayne Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 The game is notorious for messing up auto- and quicksaves. Turn them off and use CASM or CASM with MCM instead
Guest Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I will try that mod and see if it improves anything but I have already turned off auto-save on travel. I think it has to do with my mods and textures I have installed because I can avoid crashes with a barebone install, but that isn't interesting to me.
DoctaSax Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Crashes on cell transition will happen more the more mods you have that affect npc's (NVR & Lingsprettythings) & levelled lists (PN, MMUE). You can't run different mods like that, reliably, without a merged patch.

Guest Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Hehe, I have already added a bashed patch but the game isn't more stable because of that. MMUE is made to reduce the number of bugs but it might be the case that it causes more CTDs since it gives the game more to keep track of, which is a bit ironic when you think about it. I will try to remove a few things that I don't really need and see how it goes.
