Female characters disappear during sex, bug out afterwards

So, my old Skyrim save was very much fubar, and as such I started a new run, and since I was at ti, I updated all the main mods I'm using. But... something is really, REALLY off with the sex animations. When the scenes start, most of the time (not always) female participants  just... disappear, including my character. Male characters seem to be unaffected. The scene plays out (sound goes on as normal, no CTD or freeze, and the characters who don't disappear are animated as per usual), then the affected characters bug out. If it's my own, the body is gone and if I go back into 1st person mode, it looks like I'm stuck in the the floor, with my viewpoint being around the knee level of normal characters. TCL doesn't work, enabling / disabling main character doesn't work, enabling / disabling player control doesn't work. Basically I can only fix it by loading back.

If it's an NPC, their model becomes visible, but their movement is ruined: instead of walking to places, they... fall through the floor, then pop out of it when they arrive and when they just stand around they are always looking straight up to the ceiling...

I've attached my papyrus log from the last, quick attempt to make things work. I can see a LOT of errors, but can't really make heads or tails of them.

What I tried:

- rebuild everything in bodyslide
- running Loot multiple times

- running FNIS multiple times
- do a system clear on Sexlab

- reregistered animations in SL Animation Loader

- disabling pretty much all the mods I updated one by one to try to pinpoint the issue

Skeleton or outdated, wrong body mesh.

Well, I checked the skeleton, apparently there was a much newer version of it on the nexus (mine was from like 2017...), so, I replaced the old one with the new, rebuilt everything in bodyslide, rerun FNIS... and the same issue persists, nothing changed in game. 

As for the body mesh... I don't know what do you mean by "wrong body mesh" and how to fix it. To my understanding meshes need fixing if certain equipment glitch through, the body looks disproportionate and the like. But, until animations start, there's nothing wrong with them, so... I have no idea how the body mesh is related, and as such I don't know how to fix it, or really, even what to fix exactly...

Somewhat unusual mod setup.

 

You are using RaceMenuMorphsCBBE.esp plugin but there is no CBBE body plugin.

 

CBBE body plugin is for female body (skeleton) and you say that it only happens to females. So missing body mod is most likely the cause of the problem.

Okay, so... I'm not sure what you mean... CBBE doesn't have an esp or esm file coming with it. To my, rather limited understanding, I use bodyslide integrated into MO to customize how bodies should look, then I click build, and the created custom mesh simply replaces the original vanilla gamefiles, no esp or esm needed. At least that's how I've always done it and I never had this problem before. What am I missing?

Did that, also updated MNC to the latest version, didn't help. Tried starting a new game too, just in case, nope. The first few scenes went well, my character was visible, but these were non-human scenes (draugrs mostly). I started to hope that maybe it's fixed, but nope, the first scene with a human NPC immediately bugged out...

could this be a camera issue.  When scene starts and your in 3rd person and your invisible, hit 3 on your number pad and pan out with your camera, can you do that and what happens. I know in my game if camera is too close i can lose site of npcs, dont think its ever female only.

Tried this too, nope. However, this 5 minute startup of Skyrim where I did absolutely nothing else but attempt this scene once generated a 3 MB papyrus log with 2.4 million characters... I don't think that's normal...

Try moving sexlab survival towards bottom of LO, mod and esp/esm

A lot of dump references to _SLS_Main in log. Maybe try to disable Sexlab Survival plugin to see if it makes a difference.

 

Edit: yeah, even better as suggested in previous post to load Survival later in load order.

Now that I looked at it, something is funky with SLS, I can't actually open its MCM at all. Like, I click on it, then I get a completely empty menu, no options. However, it's not the cause of the original problem most likely: moved it around, didn't help. Disabled it and its complimentary .esp files, nothing changed, the original problem persists. 

While I'm not any closer to solving the issue, I would like to mention that I very much appreciate all the help. I'm a dummy when it comes to understanding how scripts and mods actually work.

Well, tried to do just that... and now absolutely no female animations work. Male's seem to work, but female characters can't eve walk, they just slide T-posing...

I disabled SL Anim Loader and a boatload of sex animations, but I don't think that this should have effected basic stuff, like running, walking, jumping, sneaking...

I left some things here: I left the default Zaz pack in, because I have to test the sex scenes with something, and mods that are completely unrelated (some outfits, SkyUI, world maps, etc), cleared out everything Sexlab related aside of Sexlab itself.

I so regret wanting to update my mods now... the previous setup and character save worked. Yes, it had issues: character occasionally just went invisible in 3rd person mode (always fixed itself for sex scenes), the carry weight needed manual adjustment after like every second loading screen, CTDs every 2 hours or so and so on... but it worked. At least it worked...

This starting look like a complete, from scratch fresh install. And fuck that. Last time I did that it took me around 35 hours to get everything proper working (I legitimately had nightmares about this shit), back in 2016 I think. Since then I just updated mods I already had, rarely got anything new. Hell, not wanting to reinstall Skyrim is the main reason I'm still on Windows 7...

Definitely dont want you to have to complete reinstall and the truth is if you had pristine data folder when you set MO up then we dont have to do everything again. Probaly installed MO means you are always a click away from a good running game minus stupid anti virus updates that be screwing people up, 

 

How long have you been using MO and what did you use prior. We need to go more bare bones than 80 mods, really couldnt take Burma Skyrim out? Mod shouldnt even be in LO if wanting to play a sex filled long playthrough, that mod should be played for 6-7 hours with your idea of bare bones so you can experience it and then move on from it,just saying.

Alright, to go in order:

1) Okay, fair enough about this LO not being barebone. What I really meant is that I got cleaned out any mod that has anything at all with animations or Sexlab, outside of the base Zaz mod ( indeed some sex animations to test it after all), and Sexlab itself.

 

2) About Bruma: that mod has been in my load order for like 4 years. I don't do short, targeted runs. I load up all the mods I want to experience, then start a game and play normally for... 200+ hours on that character, until the script lag and the piled up bugs or the CTD frequency becomes insufferable, then I purge all my saves, delete mods that I no longer want, update mods that I do want to keep, then start over again.

3) About MO: since the installation of this game. I haven't done bare modding without managers since... early Oblivion era I think. MO1, since updating to MO2 ran the risk of messing up thing and forcing me to reinstall, so never switched. Used Nexus Mod Manager before, but that was around 2014-15, so before I was forced to switch from XP to WIN7 (I'm a late adopter of everything, like to stick to things I already know how to use as long as I can, learning new shit just to be able to do the same things is annoying).

4. Nothing in the overwrite folder. Every time I run FNIS or anything that generates anything meaningful, I create an "Overwrite [current date]" pseudo-mod, then I delete the previous overwrite pseudo-mod. Sometimes there are things in there that are useless and I just leave it there, like an skse report log if I get a CTD, but otherwise I always clear it.

Probably tonight do a good review and we'll do a solid recap to help us and others that want to help figure this out. Try easy simple stuff first, then put as much shit onto the table that you can, review and recap and come up with a plan of attack. 

 

If I had to guess right now I would lean towards something got dorked cause of overwrite folder(there are more sure proof ways to use overwrite folder) or you like a bunch of other users got some weird anti virus update bs screwing you. Still it could be something easier than those 2 things, maybe something else, elusive?(making fun of another post in forums) going on with your xpmse and or body. 

 

 

 

Any clues as to why sometimes it works sometimes it dont, you said draugr banging your female pc worked? Any common denominators for when it wrks and dont wrk would be helpful.
