Please disable your auto update!!

 

Apparently, today's update broke the game, quite literally in many aspect.

 

For example, due to today's update, all previously created sims' faces will be bugged, looking in a hideous way.

Another example is, they added some sort of decor slots to objects. Now, your sims will try to wash dishes and/or put their plates on these decor slots. Bath tubs, drawers, cabinets.. everywhere.

 

Please be warned and DO NOT update your game until they fix this!

 

Main issue with CAS/Sims is, pre-made / downloaded sims looks like they have strabismus. Also, their mouths are looking off a bit. As i haven't updated my game, i don't know if the sliders can fix this.

Tbh, i don't know. But we also don't know that if the affected sims will be forever altered just as the loose tooth bug. If it's the case, then yes. If not, then yes again. Since you also alter the look in some way. Some says, even their FULLY vanilla game has this issue. You can follow the official forum thread here and stay updated.

 

Also, to spread awareness, please click "me too" button on the first post of the thread. This way, it can give heads up to the devs.

I have Sims 4 installed on an older laptop that hasn't run the game since December. I was going to check that version to see the difference in the faces. BUT... the moment I tried to start, it said files corrupt, repair required. Which would mean the game would update.

 

The corruption notice came up suspiciously fast. Too fast to determine if the files were truly corrupt, IMO.

As mentioned earlier in this post here, recent update on 18th of April broke the sims' faces. Apparently, this is not a custom slider or any sort of cc issue. This issue is due to Sims 4's base game slider issue (which you see in CAS, next to your sims'. You see two sliders, right? Muscle and Body Fat. Those ones).

 

Well known modders like CMAR and Littledica are talking about how sliders and DMaps are working on the Bug-Report thread. And they seem to be confident that once they revert/fix the coding on Sliders and the DMap, no sim should be affected because of this.

 

Meaning, if this happened to your 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023 sims, they will all be reverted instantly. This is relieving to hear, honestly.

 

But on the other hand, we are talking about EA. We don't know how long it will take them to fix this. A week, an hour.. It's unpredictable.

If you haven't updated your game, please keep it this way for the time being. Stay safe and good luck ♥

It happened just as fast on the cloned SSD on the main laptop. I should've saved the files on the old one instead of wiping the drive for an NVMe thumb drive. So it goes.
