AAF History

Could at some point in the future, the Limitation of 128 actors be worked around? As there are more mods such as Autonomy Enchanced or smth like that, with which if you enabled the Diaries for NPCs(which is imerssive ig), would eat up that 128 actors limit in the span of like several hours of gameplay.

After spending a couple of days deactivating and reactivating mods to figure out what was causing my ctd on loading a saved game, I've narrowed it down to this mod in particular.

 

Something with llfp and looksmenu running with this mod makes the game ctd on loading any saved game. Disabling either one of the three mods lets the game load as normal. Unfortunately that means the lesser mod of the three will have to be disabled until the conflict is fixed.

 

Update: So I decided to see if the older version I had 2.2 also exhibited this behaviour... It does not. So something that changed between 2.2 and 2.3 is the cause of the ctd problem. Maybe the way the dairies tries to update upon game load is the culprit?

 

Do you have 2.2 you can share?

I found v2.2 in my old downloads. Came to this thread, looking for a way to fix the CTD. Hope it helps ya

Played through with and without this mod.

Tried and tested over and over.

When using AAF and  you save right after this action.

Forget it your save is ruined, I tried this a million times and its a fact.

I use "the Program ReSaver" to search for the file save error... and your script shows up as unattached.

Your script leaves itself in the save somehow and can't be loaded-----> CTD !

I use two crash detector programs and they both list a script problem.

Is there a way to manualy activate "your history program" to finish the script, so it dosen't get trapped in a save.

I love this MOD and can't play without it, I just lose saves and time trying to find a save that does not contain the script.

Thanks again for your program and the time you put into it.

I just proved it again. I just used AAF again, I can load saves before ok. but loading any save after.. all saves"CTD"

My saves have a script ( this program ) in the saves.

My reporting programs point this program as cause.

There has to be a way to finish the script with console, to complete the history log.

Thanks. I just though that there must be a way to fire off the program in console to complete the script...

to fiinish the script to log the history, and remove the waiting script in game -----> Remove it so a good save can be had.

If I see this program show on the screen "history has been updated" while playing the saves are ok.

After using the debug option to erase all History and Diaries, the Diary journaling stopped working so it is always blank; so how does one fix this problem?

[Edit]  After following the uninstall steps for this mod, loading and saving the game, then reinstalling, and loading the game, it started working again.

Been testing this and it's pretty early so I'm not 100% sure but...

 

Every time I load I get notice that it's loading AAF History / Updating Diaries 0%,  then after a few minutes it repeats but at 100%

 

 

Late in the game, several hundred hours in, I reached a point where my most recent save was crashing, and every new save I created was also crashing.  I went through a lot of different options before it suddenly somehow stopped and I was able to make new saves.  I thought the issue was Vortex's plugin list changing or some other problem related to that, as it seemed to stop after I ran "Purge" on Vortex

 

 

Now tonight it came back again and the method I had used the first time around wasn't working anymore.

 

At some point, though, I managed to make a new save that didn't crash, after spending some time in it.  Then I tested and found:

 

When I create a new save BEFORE the AAF History / Updating Diaries process is complete, it becomes corrupted and crashes.  If I wait until AAF History / Updating Diaries reaches 100%, then create the save, the save is fine.

 

 

This only started happening after about 12 days and 12 hours in-game, and 105 partners in my diary.  Some of the events were group so maybe the count is inaccurate

 

 

 

I tested by loading a clean save and making a new save quickly.  It corrupted and crashed.  Then I loaded the clean save, waited until the Updating Diaries 100%, then saved.  It loaded fine.

 

 

Is this mod causing this?  I am using version 2.3

Yey, some crashes over the mod. It happens, I guess. What can I say:

• Do not enable NPC diaries (that option is for temporary fun, not serious saves)
• This was never tested on NG / AG, nor for newer AAF versions. Though it still works for me even over long play sessions
• Use OG if you want to use this mod.
• Finally, just saying "crashed" doesn't help. Get Buffout, get logs. That's the bare start.

Is there a unique ID for the PC's diary?  Some how my PC's diary went missing from the inventory and I have another named NPC's diary.    I am hoping to do player.addItem to get it back because I have no idea where it was left.   

 

Having said that, since I am running NukaRide, the 64 limit is something that will be reached fairly early in the game.   I will turn off NPC tracking  and hope that I won't hit the limit.

Need help with History.  Diaries show up in NPC partners, but not Player inventory.  I am on FO ver. NG using History 2.3.7 and AAF 1.2.7. 

 

NB:I saw AAF 1.5.5 is available, but not sure about updating to AE.
