I played with this load order for a good few hours with no trouble. The CTD happened on the first staircase down into the barrow, after killing the first two bandits inside.

 

According to what I believe is the papyrus log something happens with system32, so I'm unsure if this is a mod or not.

 

My system is up to date, I also ran a check on system32, apparently it is fine with no broken files. The mod order is also done by loot, except I had to move USSEP above RS children at the top, and to get rid of blackface I had to move WICO lower down, as well as RS Children. My FNIS CTD risk is below 50%, so I don't think it is an animation issue, especially since no animations are running at the time.

 

I'm hoping someone here can read the log, since I'm quite lost as to what it means, or maybe someone can spot a mod known for this issue.

 

Sorry for the trouble, but I really hope someone can help.

CTD in the same location is USUALLY a faulty mesh. Given the location you specified (I assume you mean the spiral stairway) the most likely culprit would be something that impacts the look of nord ruins or animals (particularly skeevers but possibly giant spiders). If I were you I would eliminate any mods that impact these and see if it doesn't resolve the problem. If it does you can add the mods back one at a time until you find the one that is crashing your game.

Not the spiral staircase - as you come in the entrance of the barrow, I got through the first room with the two bandits and then crashed in the corridor leading down, before the room with the guy who dies pulling the switch.

 

I'm not wholly sure what was wrong, but I tracked it down to either MNC or ASOS. I installed an earlier version of both, then got an error in MO2 about a .dll file that was causing problems in MNC. Checking around the forums everyone seemed to be saying to delete it, so I did, and then reinstalled the latest ASOS. That seemed to fix it. I did get a system freeze later, during a regular sexlab scene from Harassment for Him, but after running loot and finding a patch I didn't need (from a completely unrelated mod)  was switched on it all seems to be working.

Out of interest, when you say a faulty mesh is that a broken mesh in the mod or two mods conflicting in the game? Would that be down to load order or would you need to download a new/fixed version of the mod?

It would be a faulty mesh in a mod. Two meshes shouldn't interact. The last one loaded should overwrite the earlier one (for the same item). You can get some interesting mesh interactions from mods when they try to load a new item (say a tent with hunters) into an area that already has some item that the mod failed to remove (say a watchtower). However, those are usually funny rather than faulty (that is, CTD inducing).

I'm having the exact same issue (even tried started a new game since it's so near the start anyway). There is an already dead skeever there just before the crash, so that could be the mesh issue Psalam mentioned? In which case, I agree that it's probably MNC or ASOS, but heck if I know how to fix it. Guess I'll just play around with things and hope something works.

 

Edit: Looks like disabling ASOS works. Not sure that's a fix others will like or not, but it's working for me for now at least.
