Nude mods for Warriors Orochi 4

HI areyou perhaps interested in editing the origianl outfits of the female characters to have bigger proportions?

Hiya,

actually, I've already done that in most cases.

To be precise: Most of the source models for these mods do not have the same dimensions (height, width, etc.) as the ones in the game and therefore have to be adjusted accordingly with Blender so that everything looks as correct as possible.

In the case of the "Black Ninja" costume for Nene, for example, I had to increase the torso a bit because her model in WO4U is significantly "bigger" at some prominent point than in the source file ;).

If your question is about whether I make certain "parts" of the characters larger or smaller upon request: unfortunately, no.

However, scaling 3D models in certain places is not particularly difficult. I have posted on 05 April in this thread (page 15) a comprehensive tutorial on modding "Warriors" games... there is everything essential in it.

Hi.

First of all, you can try the modified d3dx.ini that I attached to this post.

Don't worry, there are only a few parameters changed in the file, more precisely I replaced some modifications made by the original modder with the default values from the original 3DM release.

Please see if this solves your problem and let me know.

Note: Always launch Warriors Orochi 4 with the mod via Steam and not via the application link in the installation folder.

For the time being, no DLCs are necessary for the general operation of 3DM. However, this becomes relevant if the respective modder has used DLC costumes as the base for his respective mod.

If the base is missing there should not be any crashes... 3DM simply cannot replace the corresponding files, if the starting point for it does not exist.

Some of the mods you linked to on Nexus require DLCs... but it would take too long to write them all down here.

As a hint: No character usually has more than 2 costumes in the base game. If a Nexus screenshot shows that a third or fourth costume has been selected, it is almost certain that the mod in question requires a DLC for that character.

To your last question:

Yes, it is possible to convert a 3DM mod into a bin afterwards. The only disadvantage is: It is time-consuming, complex, error-prone and you always need a character DLC as a base, because the "normal" character models in the container files of the base game can not be exchanged (unpacking is possible, but the opposite is not).

When entering the command import, you have to input a subset number after -i. The problem should be fixed. And yes, you have to use blender 2.79.

Here's an updated readme file, hopefully it's clearer now.

1. drag .bin to Extract.cmd
2. obtain file, rename 00000.data to XXXXX.g1m, place it in "data" folder #e.g D00439.g1m
3. open MusouTool_release.exe, type export -g -r -b <location of file> e.g , files will be exported into the folder "out"
4. after editing, save file to \data, open MusouTool_release again, type import -g data\XXXXX.g1m -d data\new.dae -d -i <subset #> -r
5. replace old 00000.data with new .g1m(rename to 00000.data)
6. Drag folder to Compile.cmd
7. .mdata will be created; rename to .bin

Im going to say your right when it comes to the games engine, because 3dm works for pretty much every KT game(DOA, WO4, Nioh1&2, Berserk, PersonaS, FF.Strangers. WAllStars, Attack on Titan, Dragon Quest, SW5) and hopefully Wo-Long when the PC demo comes out on the 24.

But for DW9 and Dw9Empires, it haves this same issue where they share the first index's and it have to be due to something regarding the game itself. Re-textures are possible but any blender work is met with issues for the other characters models. Even for the Created characters for Empires (which would at least helped the games lack of outfits). I lack any coding skills to attempt a solution by altering how 3dm works for these titles.

some of the Chinese modders manage to mod these games including DW9 with 3dm but no info on how.

i don't have WO3 so i cant mess around with it to find any solutions but at least i know this isn't the only game with this unfortunate hash/index sharing issue.

Hi @True_Might,

you may remember our little exchange regarding the "first index" values in WO3U and DW9 and the resulting problems - I've come across something that might interest you.

As we have discovered, there is a problem in the games mentioned that certain models share certain values, and when modding, all models with the same values are changed, which leads to graphical glitches (see following screenshot):

image.png.aa1ed4e08b09ac6442b166fa35084441.pngIn this example, the two models share the index values for the eyes and the face and so far there has been no way to stop or at least work around this - until now....

I happened to come across a thread a little over four years old from the developers of 3DMigoto while I was researching, and while it wasn't about the same problem, it did have a list of some very interesting variables that I tried out a bit.

You surely have noticed that there are two values in the dump files from which you can read the index values for the mods - so far I have only used the "first index" for my mods, but as I found out, the "index count" can also be addressed with a mod... namely with the variable "match_index_count".

image.png.b8730d90eba6b676a125c4d108ae4c29.png

I tried this and addressed the "index count" within the ini file for my mod instead of the "first index" (exact codes see spoiler)  - with the following result:

Spoiler

[TextureOverride_Eyes]
hash = dd245c8b
handling = skip
ps-t0 = ResourcePapTex_Org
;match_first_index = 0
match_index_count = 0
vb0 = ResourcePapVB_Eyes
ib = ResourcePapIB_Eyes
drawindexed = auto

[TextureOverride_Face]
hash = dd245c8b
handling = skip
ps-t0 = ResourcePapTex_CI
ps-t1 = ResourcePapTex_CI2
ps-t2 = ResourcePapTex_CI2
;match_first_index = 780
match_index_count = 5796
vb0 = ResourcePapVB_Face
ib = ResourcePapIB_Face
drawindexed = auto

image.png.bd5cc537dfa1aa95e9d747a4f877579b.pngAs you can easily see, the glitch has completely disappeared and both characters look normal - with Lianshi still showing the modded costume.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Create mod normally with the "first index" values.
  2. If glitches occur due to identical "first index" values, use the variable "match_index_count" instead of "match_first_index" for the affected parts of the model - and only for the affected parts.

There is, however, a very nasty catch to the whole thing that undermines it if you don't pay attention to it - namely, getting the correct "index count" for the corresponding model.

The "index count" seems to be dynamic to a certain extent, i.e. for models that share the "first index", for example, a dump always only throws out the "index count" for the model that is rendered first by the game engine.

If you were to generate a dump from the view of the screenshot above, Sun Quan's textures would be thrown out before those of Lianshi - the "index count" values in the dump files would therefore be his and would be changed by the mod (although this also works, but certain parts of Lianshi would then no longer be displayed).

To avoid this problem, you have to make sure that the character for whom you made the mod, in our example Lianshi, is the only character on the screen before you create the dump with "F8" - then the dump files will contain the correct working values for exactly this character.

I tried this with a few of my own mods and the glitches disappeared.

However, please note:

  • There probably won't be a 100% test... so I can't say exactly whether the alternative mentioned here really eliminates all errors.
  • If two characters have the same "index count" both would be affected - I haven't had this case yet, but I can't rule it out either.

You mentioned back then that you had the same problem with DW9 - maybe you should try the alternative described above (i.e. "index count" instead of "first index").

I also have DW9 here, but I can't try it myself at the moment due to a lack of time. However, it would be worth a try.

But always remember:

In order to get the correct values, the character that the mod will be for must be the only character on the screen when the dump is created (environment and other objects are OK).

I hope this information helps someone at least a little.

### Additional note ###

I was able to ask a friend at short notice to try the method mentioned above with a mod that I sent him some time ago for Dynasty Warriors 9 - looks promising!

image.png.45527e2b432463ad68930f5a7f97745c.pngimage.png.30124dbc55ae469f987aa90022cf0a59.png

To prove it, here is a small screenshot comparison:

In the screenshot on the left, Xiahou Yuan turns into a scary pile of polygons when using the mod... in this case the "first index" was used.

In the screenshot on the right, Xiahou Yuan looks as usual and Diaochan's costume mod also works as it should... in this case the "index count" was used.

I think that is something that can be worked with ;).

Hello all.

Attached as promised my updated modding tutorial.... now with instructions for modding Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.

By the way, the described method also works with Dynasty Warriors 9 (which has the same engine-related problems as WO3U) and the Atelier Ryza series.

Other games from Koei Tecmo like Wo Long, Ninja Gaiden or Nioh I could not test with it yet.

Dynasty Warriors 7 and 8 cannot be modded with 3DMigoto, because the program only works with games that support DX11.

As additional material to the tutorial three mods as examples to try out and understand how it works exactly:

- Bunnygirl mod for Ayane (the ingame costume with the white high heels must be selected for this) - complete conversion of the same outfit from DoA5LR

- Honoka character swap for Ayane (the ingame costume with the white high heels must be selected for this) - proof-of-concept-mod replacing Ayane with Honoka from DoA5 (complete with standard costume)

- Kai DLC Dress (her first standard ingame costume must be selected for this) - backport of one of her Samurai Warriors DLC Outfits

Ayane_BunnyMod.png.f5bb24c186d53af5fa51eca796f0ab51.pngAyane_HonokaSwap.png.1b7ac34f96e3c84cbf670cc1f0ca17b9.pngKai_CostumeBackport.png.398aeee9accf0570e31b676775a7a4be.png

To install and use the mods, please refer to my post from February 13.

That's all for now... so now you can also create mods for Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.

Have fun!

Hi @Murbor,

you mean this mod I showed off for Warriors Orochi 4 where I switched Lianshi with Honoka?

image.png.2d053d095ab6d2f7a92d403e8fa2c4c6.png

Yes, I finished it, but haven't published it yet.

But I made a character switch from Ayane to Honoka for Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate some time ago and the mod has already been published (see cited post above).

I know, not the right answer to your question, but... I don't have access to the other Honoka mod for WO4 right now sadly.

It was one of the first mods I made back then, and it will probably need some work as I've gained more experience since then.

Maybe I'll post it when I think of it and made the necessary adjustments... can't promise though.

###################### ###################### ###################### ######################

Apart from that... I have now been able to try out the “match_index_count” method described in my last post with Dynasty Warriors 9 myself.

Trying the whole thing was quite tedious because I had forgotten how complicated it is to find the right hashes for the relevant parts of the models in this game, but it worked in the end.

I simply ported one of my older mods for WO3U to DW9... I used Bao Sanniang as the character for the example (see screenshots).

image.png.3fda24a8fcac804c91713029fafee49d.pngimage.png.9dd774017377dc131a42478f73a7d791.png

The bottom line is that it looks very, very good in my opinion... thanks to the "match_index_count" the graphical glitches disappear completely as the other characters are now unaffected by the changes (although I can't guarantee that it works 100%).

However, I had a few minor problems because some characters share the "index count" for face and hair... the solution here was to simply take the hashes for the corresponding textures for this parts from the "deduped" folder that the program automatically generates when dumping.

A small additional note:

The developer of 3DMigoto updated the "blender_3dmigoto.py" script for Blender on the 3DM Github at the end of September. This fixes, among other things, a fairly persistent bug that previously prevented you from being able to import certain dumps into Blender (which also affected DW9, among others).

Well, that's it again... see you next time ;).

Hello all,

as a follow-up to my last post, here's a quick "proof-of-concept" mod for Dynasty Warriors 9:

Costume Mod "Red Lotus" for Lianshi (Dynasty Warriors 9):

### How to Install & Play - Use at own risk ###

1. Get the "3DM Orochi Mod Enabler" and unpack it in your "Dynasty Warriors 9" directory

2. Run the Game once and confirm the UAC popup with "OK" (you only have to do this once)

3. Quit the game

4. Unpack the mod files from the zip-file below in the "Mods"-folder in your "Dynasty Warriors 9" directory

5. Start the game again

6. Press F10 to load/refresh the installed mod

Notes:

  • This mod serves as a quick "proof of concept", nothing more and nothing less.
  • The texture shaders in this game are a little... special. So no shadows for now.
  • Model has slight inaccuracies on the legs... it's a problem with the weights, but with a little effort it should be possible to correct it in Blender. I didn't do it here because the mod is just supposed to be a quick example.

Further note:

This will probably be my last mod release post here for quite some time, as there are just too many other things getting in the way at the moment. But I'll still stop by occasionally and am currently planning to update my modding tutorial with the new information for WO3U and DW9... the latter won't happen too quickly, however.

Been a couple months now. Did you ever get access to your WO4 Honoka-over-Lianshi mod and make the adjustments you wanted? I really like how it looks, just judging from that one screenshot, and I would really like to have it.

Also, I'm still looking for this Lianshi mod and this Koshosho mod, as well as the Oichi mod the person above shared a picture of. Has anybody here had any luck finding any of them?

Hi @Murbor,

yes, I was able to make the mentioned changes, but unfortunately I was not at home for several months and therefore had no access to my modding PC.

HonokaLianshi_Swap.png.8a472f6abd71b0799b39bd487c27fc0e.pngI'm still very busy at the moment and hardly have time for anything else, but since I'm at home for a few days and just saw your post... here you go:

  • The first two zip files attached to this post contain the corresponding mods for the character swap Lianshi >>> Honoka.
  • "WO4_LianshiHonokaSwap_FaceAndHair" contains the data for Honoka's face and default hairstyle from DOA5 and should work with all costumes / mods for Lianshi.
  • "Wo4_Lianshi_MM_Costume" contains the costume mod from the screenshot.
  • The third zip contains the shader adjustments (must also be installed).

Please note:

  • Unfortunately, the face swap is not entirely flawless. In some close-ups there are distortions in the mouth area... these imperfections sadly occur because the original model and the mod are not identical in terms of dimensions. This can be reduced somewhat by manual editing, but not completely eliminated... sorry.
  • I'm not completely satisfied with the costume mod yet, but before I spend several hours adjusting the whole thing in Blender, I'll accept a few inaccuracies.

Don't forget to install the "Orochi 4 Mod Enabler" in the main folder of the game (see my previous posts).

Please try out the two mods (together and separately) and let me know if everything works. I had a few duplicate shaders after installing the mods after such a long time... but should be fixed here (I hope).

Have fun!

### EDIT ###

I have removed the mod files from here indefinitely as I am not happy with the mod at the moment.

It was the first one I created for WO4U and I would actually have to completely redo it with my current knowledge.

However, I don't have the time for that. Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks!

Which post was the mod enabler in? And what's it called? If it's 3DMigoto, I already have that.

Where do I put the shaders? Just in the mods folder, or do they need to go somewhere else?

Here's some screenshots I took with the "00_Shaders" folder inside the "mods" folder, and using 3DMigoto. If that's not where the shaders go or not the mod enabler I'm supposed to use, then that may be the cause of the graphical weirdness in these screens. (Though, the screenshot you attached to the post above this one shows some of the same problems, so these could possibly just be problems with the mod itself.) I also have all graphical settings turned down to minimum because 3DMigoto mods adversely affect the game's performance, and my PC isn't terribly good to begin with.

With both "LS_MM" and "WO4_LianshiHonokaSwap_FaceAndHair" in the "mods" folder.

With "LS_MM" only

With "WO4_LianshiHonokaSwap_FaceAndHair" only

Also, LS_MM (the body/outfit mod) absoutely tanks the framerate, to the point where it seems to slow my PC down in general, and that's just from looking at it in the gallery. Can't imagine what it's like during actual gameplay. No other mod for this game I've tried had this kind of affect on the performance, and I've tried quite a few. It's just the body that has this problem though. The face/hair doesn't harm the game's performance at all from what I could tell in the process of taking those screenshots. I'll give just the face and hair a try in gameplay and see how well it works.

EDIT: Here's some screenshots of the face/hair in gameplay. Her hair is black during gameplay, but not in the gallery or the camp menu. The stripe going across the bottom half of her breasts (it also goes across the underside of her arms, though I couldn't get a screen of that) blinks in and out of existence seemingly at random. And I have no idea what's going on with her mouth. You said her mouth had "distortions", but I didn't think it'd be that bad. And the last picture is something that happens briefly in the camp menu sometimes when changing team members while the game is loading their models. I've never seen anything like that before.

Those are all the problems I noticed just from a few minutes of messing around. I hope this helps you improve the mod. Though if these problems arose from me using the wrong mod loader or putting the files in the wrong places, then I guess just ignore all this. I'll gladly try the mod out again though once I know the proper installation process.

Also, whatever you've been busy with, I hope it's going well and that things get back to normal for you soon!

Hi Murbor,

sorry for the problems... unfortunately I wasn't precise enough in explaining how the whole thing works.

I'll try it more detailed this time:

  • Sadly, the "normal" 3Dmigoto, which you probably downloaded from the corresponding Github (1.3.16 should have been the last release), is not enough on its own.
  • You need a version with a special ini file called "Female roster skins - 3d Migoto enabler", which you can find on Nexusmods (should be easy to find via Google if you search the name).
  • It may be that the game does not start with the mod enabler installed (unfortunately I couldn't find out the exact reason for this). If this happens, please overwrite the ini file with the modified ini file from my post from July 12, 2023 a little further up in this thread. This should cause the game to start again with 3Dmigoto.
  • You also could try this ini first before downloading the Enabler from Nexus.
  • It is enough if you simply copy the mod files into the "Mods" folder. The whole thing should then look like this:
  • grafik.png.bd7e07ad9ef5a7dee9466f93ff3e079f.png

A few of the glitches could be due to a bug that I unfortunately missed:

In the "HON_HairMod_A" folder, three lines at the top of the ini file called "Hon_HairMod_A.ini" are commented out (see screenshot).

grafik.png.e89f3ee114f4421d918d4a07773d8b3f.png

Open the file with Notepad (or another text editor of your choice), delete the ; at the beginning of all three lines and save the file. It should look like this:

grafik.png.b771cd49749b1e840c312bf2b524a387.png

As a test, I emptied my entire mod folder, downloaded the files from my last post, made the changes mentioned and let the game run... it should actually work now (I hope it does for you too).

A few more comments on your other findings:

  • 3Dmigoto is a resource hog. On weaker PCs, even a small mod can bring the game to its knees... unfortunately there's nothing we can do about that. I have a pretty powerful PC and even with 10+ mods there are no performance drops... of course I can't speak for others. You mentioned that you had to turn down the settings to play with other mods so it´s good that you are aware of that.
  • The distortions on the mouth are exactly what I was talking about and yes... unfortunately they are that bad.
  • I'm also not sure whether my mods are compatible with those that other people have made. Personally, I only use my own, so I can't say anything more about it.
  • Oh... and the texture glitch in the gallery (the "breast line") should only be visible in the gallery and not in the Camp menu or gameplay. Probably the result of a little negligence on my part... I probably forgot to change a texture specifically for the gallery screen (I didn't do that because I only use the Honoka mod with the costume at the same time). However, the whole thing shouldn't flicker.

I hope this wall of text helps you a little... if it still doesn't work properly after that, unfortunately I don't have any ideas at the moment as to what could be wrong.

But I was pretty sure that there would be problems with this mod of all things ;).

It was the first one I made for Warriors Orochi 4 and I would actually have to completely redo it again with what I know today... unfortunately I don't have the time for that.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

Nexus is where I got 3DMigoto from originally. It's also where I got most of the other mods I'm using.

Uncommenting those lines didn't seem to do anything. Her hair is still black instead of pink during gameplay, and her mouth is still messed up.

I tried removing all the other mods I was using, and while that made the body mod look *slightly* better and made it not cause my PC scream in agony, it weirdly seemed to entirely break the hair mod, as the game would only load Lianshi's normal hair instead. I tried with the top three lines in HON_HairMod_A.ini commented and with them uncommented, and tried redownloading the mod, and it was still broken. Putting my other mods back in the mods folder restored the hair to the way it was before. No idea what happened there.

In this case I´m afraid that there is nothing more that I can do to help you.

I did some tests again after my last post... meaning I redownloaded the Enabler from Nexus, changed the ini file to the modified one, then downloaded the mod files I provided here and corrected the three commented lines in the mod ini.

It works flawlessly on my end.

What I don´t understand is that you mentioned that the hair from the original model in being rendered if you only use this mod and nothing else (I assume that you also use the provided shader ini in the "00_Shaders" folder)... this shouldn´t be the case.

It could be that some file, at least one or more entries in the ini files of the other mods or something else are interfering here... but it will be extremely difficult to narrow down, since 3Dmigoto usually immediately displays orange error messages on the screen in the event of duplicate / incorrect hashes when starting the game.

The only thing that "could" be relevant here is the shader cache, since you mentioned that you have used other mods before this one... have you tried clearing the "ShaderCache" folder (don´t delete the files there, only copy them to another place for testing so that the folder is empty.

I remember reading something regarding to that... but I haven´t had any problems like this before (probably because I never used mods other than mine).

For the problem with the hair color being incorrect, I'm curious, does the mod have textures for low graphic settings? I had problems with other mods having parts of the model display incorrectly during gameplay, and it wound up being due to the mod not including any low-end textures for those parts when I reported it to the mod's creator.

I redownloaded the Enabler from Nexus, changed the ini file to the modified one

For clarity's sake, what do you mean by this? Is there another file somewhere I need to get that doesn't come with the 3DMigoto download from Nexus?

What I don´t understand is that you mentioned that the hair from the original model in being rendered if you only use this mod and nothing else (I assume that you also use the provided shader ini in the "00_Shaders" folder)... this shouldn´t be the case.

It is incredibly weird. I don't know much about modding, but I know enough to know how bizarre this is. I'll do some testing to see if I can find if there's one specific mod that's interacting with yours in some way.

it will be extremely difficult to narrow down, since 3Dmigoto usually immediately displays orange error messages on the screen in the event of duplicate / incorrect hashes when starting the game displays.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm not getting any error messages from anything when I start the game.

Found it. This is the mod that allows your Honoka hair mod to work for me. Still no idea why your mod doesn't work for me without this though.

I lowered the all the graphic settings to the lowest possible values... everything works as it should, no difference on my end.

I meant that I downloaded the same 3Dmigoto version you used from Nexus again for testing purposes and then switched the "d3dx.ini" from this version with the "d3dx.ini" I made myself in July (see the respective post in this thread from me). This change is only necessary if WO4U isn´t starting with the unchanged 3Dmigoto version from the nexus.

I have seen the file you provided, but I can´t promise that I can analyse it quickly. Maybe tomorrow, if I find time to do it (can´t promise).

Scratch that - I looked into it quickly and the whole affair gets even more strange:

To only overlapping entry is this - found in the "hair.ini":

; Shader overrides
[ShaderOverride_MyMod_hair_0]
hash = bfaf32825571df60
run = CommandListN2General
allow_duplicate_hash = overrule

Seems familiar? Thats the same lines that are commented in the "HON_HairMod_A.ini".

;[ShaderOverrideHonHairMod_A]
;hash = bfaf32825571df60
;run = CommandListN2General

The "allow_duplicate_hash = overrule" missing in my file doesn´t mean anything in this case... it is only necessary if the same shader is used in another ini (in this case 3DM will throw an error message when the game starts, which you said isn´t the case).

The second shader "1c1aa44c83930b31" from the other mod isn´t used in any of my files (if I looked correctly).

This means that if you remove the ; from the three lines of my ini it should do the same thing... in this case show the correct (modded) hair.

I will maybe have some further look tomorrow...

Alright then. Thanks for trying to help me troubleshoot this, and sorry for eating up so much of your time. If you can't figure anything out, don't sweat it too terribly much. You said you wanted to remake this mod eventually anyway. Though, Honoka looks pretty good in Lianshi's clothes, so if just the hair and the mouth could be fixed, I think I'd be satisfied with that. At any rate, thanks again, and you have a great day.
