Just Anotha Update #1/ Vortex Review
so it took me a few hours and some trials but thanks to my modding experience I was able to get a good special edition loadout going, 10 hours in with no issues. I probably already said this but I'll be using special edition for my actual play through with minimal beautification
here are some pictures of my male khajit, Pu'nani.
his back story is that he grew up with the teenage mutant ninja turtles because he was mutated in a bizarre off screen accident into a BIG pink cat with superhuman abilities. after being trained by splinter he was suddenly teleported to tamriel because he was chosen by the gods or something. after having a brief affair with mara herself the memories of him in the tmnt world were erased so all is good.
now he suplexes enemie, fights in an illegal underground arena and is generally a wild card badass.
his motivation is to romances all women possible
unarmed kill moves are cool lol, I'm having fun.
on to what I'd like to say about vortex
tl;dr, I think it's good but it could be better. I prefer it over nmm and mo though
negatives:
it lacks detail, for example it doesn't show installation progress or install queue
still has some bugs, small ones though
struggles to delete mods or doesn't tell you when it does
it doesn't auto detect programs
bodyslide isn't one if the defaults anymore
has nothing to do with vortex but no skimpy armors are converted yet lol
it could use BIGGER images on the omod installer pop ups
no longer shows images of the mod page
you must register applications once per game.
it does NOT save download progress (my biggest issue)
positives:
generally better
launches quickly
easy access
easy to use
user friendly
quicker load times
can open mod folders
profiles
simple
can be advanced
has it's own in manager load order sorter
displays mods from the nexus(albeit small) which shows more integration
could easily throw in a steam workshop collections kind of thing if they wanted
not laggy most if the time
cute lil tornado
now that I know how to use vortex (after using SE as a guinea pig) I'll be able to start efficiently modding LE (possibly this weekend)
now I'm off to watch documentaries, have a nice day guys and stay hydrated, thanks for reading
