Dawnstar, Skyrim
Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary
Night Mother: Titus Mede II is dead, however not your protege killed the Emperor.
Faelyn: H-how can that be? She is the best of us...
Night Mother: She failed, no longer worthy to be a member of the Brotherhood, her life is pitiable and undeserved.
Faelyn: What should I do now?
Night Mother: Inform your leaders that the new target is none other than your former protege. This kind of failure is unacceptable. You, my dear Listener, You must finish it.
Faelyn: I-I understood Night Mother. Your wisdom guides me.
Faelyn: Laina, what have you done?!
Not Far from Markarth
Aeliana: I can already see the city. I can't believe we're finally here.
Laina: I know what we agreed on, but still I don't think it's a good idea to return to Skyrim. By now the Dark Brotherhood must have been informed of what had happened.
Aeliana: Does the Night Mother see everything?
Laina: Past, present and future. Unless Faelyn relayed the message...
Aeliana: Who is Faelyn? You haven't told me about it yet.
Laina: He's the Listener. Look, it's complicated now, let's find some shelter and then we'll discuss how to proceed.
Aeliana: I'm Markarth's thane, I have enough influence to keep you safe as long as you're with me. Of course we have to be careful, but I have a house over there where we can hide for the night.
Laina: I don't want to make any attention, but if you can get me in relatively unnoticed, then let's go. I don't have a better idea right now.
Haalfingar Region, Imperial Prison
Serana: Commander, I want to see the prisoner!
Commander: Legate Aeliana has given orders to keep it strictly separate from everyone else. She also said that you can visit her at any time, but still, I must warn you to be careful with her.
Serana: Don't worry, she has more to fear from me. Is there anyone else in the cells?
Commander: No Ma'am.
Serana: Then don't let anyone bother us.
Little later
Elisha: Just tell me Serana, how long are we going to play this? You brought me here from that other fortress, but you didn't care me from the vampire hunters? What the hell else do you want from me?
Serana: I don't bother with you telling me anything anymore, it's not about that anymore. You betrayed me Elisha, even though I trusted you. If you could, you would push my mother and me into the clutches of my sadistic father, all for what?
Elisha: Because he was right. Have you never longed not to live as an outcast, at the mercy of the forces of nature? That prophecy...
Serana: Don't come with that, the prophecy is a lie. My father also talked your brain out with this fucking nonsense... It's over Elisha.
Elisha: I see your father's legacy in you, the same wild fire burning in you. Don't want to be other than what fate called you to be.
Serana: Don't talk to me about fate bitch, yours is in my hands.
You can't just throw me away like trash... You'll learn that tonight too.
Enjoy it while you still can...!
Lick me, Come on! Deeper!!!
Molag Bal: Finish her! Gobble up that soft little body, she's just a pitiful worm.
HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Go and destroy!
Unleash your instincts!
Meanwhile in Markarth
Later
Aeliana: Stay here, I'll be back soon.
Laina: Okay.
Aeliana: My Jarl, I would like an update on the current situation.
Sigmund Jarl: Ah, Legate. General Tullius informed me of your arrival. As you may have experienced, we drove the Thalmor out of the city. In response, two armies were sent from Cyrodiil and High Rock, but the general's combined army routed them and pursued them further across the border. There is currently no news about further developments.
Aeliana: Victims?
Sigmund Jarl: Fortunately, not many from the city, the general lost several soldiers, but not nearly as many as the elves.
Aeliana: How safe is the road to Whiterun?
Sigmund Jarl: The Thalmor didn't have any major reserves in the central part of the range, so it's safe to say, but despite your abilities, I'd suggest you definitely don't go alone.
Aeliana: Okay, thank you for the information.
As Aeliana made her way to the fortress exit, she was stopped by an Imperial courier.
Imperial Courier: Legate Aeliana! Glad to find it here!
Aeliana: What can I help you with, soldier?
Imperial Courier: General Tullius sent to call for reinforcements from Fort Snowhawk, but I couldn't find our liaison man at his guard post, and apparently no one had been there for days.
Aeliana: Do you think something happened in the Fort? Maybe a group of Thalmor soldiers surprised them from the mountains?
Imperial Courier: Unfortunately, this is also not out of the question. Although the general did not send me to you, I would not like to disturb the Jarl in the present situation. Could you come with me?
Aeliana: Let's find out what happened.
Fort Snowhawk
Imperial Courier: Legate, in the other room...
Aeliana: By the Gods...
Imperial Courier: That's horrible! Did a Thalmor attack really happen?
Aeliana: I don't see any abandoned Thalmor equipment or elf corpses anywhere. Unless it was a no loss attack then I don't think they were.
Imperial Courier: Then who?
Aeliana: I don't know, but we better be careful. Maybe whoever did this is still here.
To be continued...
