Sakana Village [W.I.P]

Location Type: Custom Worldspace

Hold/Region: Sea of Ghosts

Description:

The origins of this village are known to very few, with many being unsure of how long the village has been around. But it is a village mostly comprised of Selachii, though members of other races are not at all shunned, they are free to either visit, or live in the village if they wish. Though being separate from the Skyrim mainland, some could easily believe that it is a lawless place - it is not. While it may follow some similar laws and customs of Skyrim itself, due to proximity, it has its own system of governance, with the majority of guards being Selachii.

Maintaining good relationships through trade, the village's decently sized port sees ships hailing from many places, and while some Nordic captains show some distaste, they cannot deny that if they come to the Village to trade, they are given both due respect, and good coin for what they have to offer.

To the northeast of the Village, a few caves and ruins exist, including at least one large Nordic Ruin, which a few scholars have compared to Volskygge. As the island never had an Imperial presence, no such structures exist there.

Characters

Ryuhei, Selachii, M - Born years before the Great War, he became the Elder of the Village after twenty years of working to support and protect his people.

Masaru, Selachii(C), M - Anzu's first child.

Shizue, Selachii, TSF - The Captain of Sakana Village's guards.

Ritzu, Selachii, F - Dealing with the city's money, she manages the books, as well as correlating with the merchants on taxes. Known for a somewhat ditzy behavior, but mostly keeps the cities' coin in check.

Midori, F - Widowed after her husband's death in a conflict just over ten years ago, she holds a great love and respect for her son, Lemon, and while he guards the village most days, she takes care of her daughter, Rem.

You still working on this?

Yes I am. The only problem is the lack of assets - the intent being that most of the Village's buildings look like the more traditional Japanese style, meant to be a sort of smaller example of the preferred style of of the race. Though some assets do exist in such a style, the issue is that they are more built for the sort of open world house, not like Skyrim's style of having an exterior(which is usually one single mesh) and interior(can be a single mesh or comprised of many), mostly so you can have as many details as you want in the interior, without it having a drain on memory while in an exterior.

There are two images posted of this location already, here, and here, both including one this entry's mentioned characters, Lemon. Currently, the most I've done for the location is creating the Island's docks, and a bit of the beach.

Maybe some of the Akiviri Temple assets could work...At least as a placeholder.

Some of them could be, including some assets from this mod, Minor Architectural Mesh Expansion Modders Resource, which can be used for the intended Elder's Home and Temple. Maybe I could use the ExteriorWalkway(one of them used in Sky Haven Temple's Mountain Exterior), or just the farmhouse meshes as placeholders. Though likely leaving the navmeshing(used to determine NPC pathing) for later, or leave it open enough to allow for a change in assets.
