Better Khajiit male body texture for SOS body

Hello everybody, I decided to create better textures for Khajiit male. I have combined and edited several of  already created textures.  Unfortunately I could not to contact any author of the original textures and ask for permission.  I don't know if I can publicly publish textures. The textures I have used as sources have been created by these authors: KrittaKitty, mrLenski, Bethesda, author of khajiit male texture for  SOS (maybe VectorPlexus and Smurf ).

You are the author of Better Khajiit female body Texture for UNP, right? If so, great work on those. I used them for all of my Khajiit characters until I installed YA and swapped them for YA's custom texture. Kudos on them, they're pretty good  . These male ones also look pretty good.

 

As for other authors and permissions: Kritta is currently MIA but I'm pretty sure she's fine with you (or anyone else) using her textures as long as you give proper credit and don't charge money for your mod (which is obviously not going to happen, lol). SOS' Khajiit textures seem to be fine to use as long as proper credit is given as well, so I'd say that's fine too. mrLenski seems to be off the grid, though, and their inbox is full going by the comments on the Coverkhajiits page, so I guess you could do the same i.e. give credit and that's it. If they go back online and ask you to take down your mod for some reason (which I'm 99% sure it will not happen, but you never know), simply comply as soon as possible and it should be fine.

 

Though please, if any moderators (or users with more info on this) read this post and find anything wrong, do let me know. I don't want to be wrong on this kind of topics  .

Hum, winny, you see... This mod already uses the CoverKhajiit textures for the faces, in case you didn't notice, lol.

 

As for the fur, I agree with you on that, but the Skyrim game engine is simply not capable of rendering actual 3D fur, so this is as good as it gets considering the engine's limitations.

I know that fur in Skyrim is underground (bad) also at animals.

But there are exceptions, modders who did their thing well.

Yes, it's me  .   I'm glad you like the textures. I intend to create another version of the Khajiit male texture with fewer spots, just like the female version. Thanks for the information, I publish the textures and see what happens.

As far as I know they were created by the SOS team (VectorPlexus and Smurf IIRC) using the vanilla Khajiit textures as a base, so you could simply credit them for SOS and its Khajiit textures and that should be it.

Just saw it on Nexus. Good to hear, I'll check it out later . 

 

BTW, two small things: there is a typo on the mod name (it says "Khajii" instead of "Khajiit", it's missing the "t"), and also the "IIRC" after Smurf is not part of the name, it just means "if I remember correctly", and I used it because I am not 100% sure those two are the only authors of the textures; b3lisario also worked on the mod, but I think he only worked on code, not texture. But since I wasn't sure, I added that bit. You should take the IIRC out of the credits, lol  .
