Animations v. Pose Packs

Recommended Posts

So I'm a bit of a n00b but learning and loving more each day about TS4 CC & Mods.  The one thing I don't really understand is the difference (and uses) of pose packs.  I get animations (most of which sexual in nature) work with wickedwhims but what is the purpose of pose packs? Do they add extra interactions with objects?

As far as I understand it's just for pics for stories.

The pose pack is used more than anything to create stories by taking screenshots, it is also a very useful platform for animators, since it allows them to test both the pose and the animation.

They both a completely different tool and it's worth having both!

Wickedwhims adds the sex mechanic to the game,

However the pose player is a free platform,

Poses can be used for screenshots and storytelling but animations of a non sexual nature are also available,

Some pose packs even contain motion captured dance routines that are very fun to use!

Some modelling poses are perfect to check out and to present your new sims. Poses with furniture or for a pair or a group, you need Poseplayer and Pose statues (Pose everywhere) for every single sim and you have to place the statues correct.

Animations do not need Poseplayer or a statue but you have to use animations that got functions with that object (the ground is an object too).

EA-Animations too often show unwanted facial expressions for screenshots or presentations – Poses help to show more and interesting facial expressions for your sim characters, stories or modell presentations. And you can have poses for the CAS screen

There's few scattered around the web, I found a few on Tumblrs a while back and struggle to remember but the most prominent one is Concept Design 97

He/she has a few videos on YouTube with links to files, they're great fun to play with!! :classic_heart:

Been using them for my own vids too

Maybe take a look for TS4 dance mods at YT too - DL links are included - but always read the descriptions first ;-)
