Hello everyone, this is a small project that was spinning in your head, mount a tutorial on the creation of tattoos for our characters, many direis that there are many, you are right, the difference is that in this I will give you some tips and I will teach you some tricks, like tattooing in unusual areas.
Keep in mind that it will take me a while to complete the tutorial, since as I go riding the tattoo, I'll take the catches and then I have to pass everything here.

Let's go to the mess, in this tutorial we will use the photoshop, it is the only program I have for retouching I'm sorry, and the S4S, with respect to photoshop, if your computer is 32bits or you have less than 4Gb of ram I advise you to look for the CS5 or CS6 of photoshop, they are not as demanding as the last versions, although they are always programs that eat many resources.

Apart from the programs I mentioned we will use the standard textures, I will see that I use two textures, the second one is easy to get, you just have to extract it from any skin of the whole body.

This is part of the material that I will use to assemble a complete body and assemble the tutorial, once completed I will share it here and within my section of intimate tattoos.

The first thing we will do is open the photoshop and create a new drawing, we will give it a size of 2048x4096, since it is the maximum size that accepts the S4S, with transparent background, we are not interested in a solid background.

inicio1.thumb.jpg.b550ba7e1ef4c5ec75977404a728ffa0.jpg

Once we have it on the screen, we will select the brush and we will change the color to black, marked in the captures in red, since we have to paint our black background. Here I use a brush size of 5000, the maximum, and I keep it for the whole process, since with two or three mouse clicks I paint everything, if it were smaller, it would have to be painted by zones and it is a can.

inicio2.thumb.jpg.31bea266371d7408d91fb2c37c83860d.jpg

What we have assembled is our background, it seems silly, but we will need it later towards the end of the tutorial, now we go for the textures, we will open the texture, in this case I use the feminine one, in the upper menu we will select image, size image and we resize it to 2048x4096, the same size of the background, if you look at the image, where it sets height and width I have them linked so that when resizing it proportionally, if it had been deactivated, I could do a free resizing, I could Choose the width and height you want.

texturas.thumb.jpg.39b82ba1497c558eca95b42905422691.jpg

We will remain as in the image, the textures will be selected and we will use Ctrl + c to copy, open the background we have created before, the one we painted in black and paste with Ctrl + v, if we look to the right, we have control layer, we have to appear two, in my case three: layer1 which is the black background, layer 1 which is the standard texture and layer 2 texture of the nude skin, which is what I will use.

The next thing we are going to create are four empty layers, if you look at it I have not saved yet and the layers are completely visible; These layers are going to be used to create references, on the one hand the corporal limits of the texture, and on the other the center of the chest and the back of the character.

referencias.thumb.jpg.3e8103ca8d469e47617e6405b88f053e.jpg

We select one of the empty layers, and in the tool menu, the lateral one, we will select the pen, here I forgot to highlight it in red, but it is the one that is selected, it has a stylistic tip shape, in the properties we will give it a size of 1 pixel, since what we want is a thin line, and using the standard texture we will create a line from the bottom of the thong to the top of the chest, we will repeat the same operation with the other three layers, only one is for the back, and the other two although it may seem that they do not make sense, they are important and we will use them later. Hos should be as in the image.

Well, we have everything ready to start working, now is the time to save the image, I recommend using the PSD format, the photoshop format, while we are working, since in one image we will have everything, the layers that we have created, as well as the future ones that we will create, and if we have to modify something, it will be easier for us.

guardado.thumb.jpg.ecf089c9cadf93bfd0692726ec947dc4.jpg

We are ready to start working, in this step I hide the layer that has the standard texture, leaving only the nude skin layer, the base layer, which is the one we painted in black and the four layers with the reference lines , that seem to us with the name of forms.

The first tattoo that I will put is on the upper part of the chest, for that I will use the reference line that I created before, which will help me to center the image.

This will be the image that will go.

pecho1.thumb.jpg.bad0ffb2343af3577674be76738ea09b.jpg

This image was already prepared from before, so it is easy to inscribe it, we will use the magic wand, it is the tool that is selected, click on the transparent area, for a selection, if you have taken everything, press the right button of the mouse and select inverse, use Ctrl + c to copy, or go to the top menu bar, edit copy, click on the tab of our work, paste, edit, paste or Ctrl + v and adjust the image, in this case I I'm using the cc 2017 version of photoshop that makes a polar tracking to center the image, but we use the line to center the image, we approach it by dragging it with the mouse, left click maintained and we move it, then with the cursor arrows we fine tune the position and place it, in this case below the line of the clavicles.

pecho2.thumb.jpg.b1e5c658f6988b80e4dd17a31551c337.jpg

If you look at the image I have a couple of things highlighted in red, ok, once it is in the desired position we block the transparency of the layer, we will see a closed padlock in the selected layer; This action will be repeated in each layer that contains the images that will make up our tattoo.

5a787b65a6b3f_bloqueodecapas.thumb.jpg.5fb954714c0d8112ea8f723862c16723.jpg

The next area that I will use is the back, in this I will have to resize the image.

5a787cb645811_pequea.thumb.jpg.91c1200bc29c13684a031a4b6cf35c1a.jpg

As you can see, I'm using the reference line that marks the central line of my back, as I said I'm going to have to resize the image since it's small.

5a787d74459a9_comprobaciontamaos.thumb.jpg.50a185afbbf0f416019919ec359278bf.jpg

We resize the image as we have done with the textures, edition, image size and introduce the desired value, in this case it will be a width of 20cm.

ajustada.thumb.jpg.1133692a9676225d9294c4a298451da8.jpg

We center and adjust it in height, and block layer transparency.

We will be preparing to test what we are creating, for the moment we only have the upper part of the chest and the back.

espalda.thumb.jpg.9207f039333b935a2618baa5d9815cc5.jpg

Now we are going to select the brush, we make sure that the white color is selected, since we have to paint all the images of our tattoo, do not panic, it is only to create the alpha channel, without it you would not see anything, we hide what First the reference layers, and we paint layer by layer in white.

5a7886bd0d767_preparandoparacanalalfa.thumb.jpg.872542fc4cbbdf7afa6d24ff4eefecf3.jpg

Once we have painted them white, we will hide the layer of the texture, staying with the images of our tattoo and layer 1, which is the black background.

5a78873072ca2_canalalfa1.thumb.jpg.9ceb9b18ba26bef325633032335ed10d.jpg

In this image I have already created the channel, but it is for you to see how it will look like in the previous step, once we have it, we will use Ctrl + a to make an automatic selection, then Shift + Ctrl + c with this we will make a selective copy of the layers that we have blocked, and now we will use Ctrl + Alt fixed and we will press the Z to return to the original state, that is to say that our images can be seen.

canales.thumb.jpg.a1462c8250c355904f6c21bedf8ef36d.jpg

Once we have recovered everything, we will select the channel tab and create a new channel, an alpha channel will appear (see previous image), hide the texture layer if we have it activated, Ctrl + v and paste the selection will remain as in the image previous. Click on a layer to visualize them and we are ready to save.

We are now going to save, hide now all the layers except those that interest us, the images of our tattoo, we select file and save as PNG, remind you that the work has not yet been finished and we have to review it, with what we keep also in PSD, I already told you at the beginning.

5a788a1f761e8_preparandolatextura.thumb.jpg.392e3d437ccb4f5d6a3f0b36cd2495d6.jpg

I would be ready to test in the S4S.

Let's try it as it is.
We open the S4S, and we go to the CAS section.

s4s1.thumb.jpg.ba12553a6e38cfbb1944c5399cf10470.jpg

We created a new CAS entry, in this case I'm going to use a tattoo of the upper chest.

s4s2.thumb.jpg.785f729486474721570f92167649fba8.jpg

Which I modify as a tattoo of the lower part of the forehead, so I leave free the other areas that are the most used.

s4s3.thumb.jpg.472327cbd61862ae5fe45c14aa00fc70.jpg

We go to the section texture, in this case I do not create any new, I will overwrite the source, so I directly import the texture that I created, remember that it is the image that we saved before with png format.

5a788e31916a1_resultadopecho.thumb.jpg.1cc07f371f7e93f56cbd9dae008d31ae.jpg

resultado espalda.jpg

And this for the moment is the result, until here you have the first part of the tutorial, I will continue to assemble everything, until you reach two areas that I will comment on.

The other day we had stayed on the back, as I said had to be riding the fullbody and creating the tutorial, so today hos I bring the last steps, which will create a fake garter and tattoo the right leg, with a single tattoo that get to the back.

final1.thumb.jpg.d8f96c28e8309e02d05692ebd6925f14.jpg

final2.thumb.jpg.de45c55fbceab889f7304c8608383c0a.jpg

final3.thumb.jpg.4d7b87c99b080aa4ab1ed1fe925b1fcb.jpg

final4.thumb.jpg.51e2ccf1ab742b4028fef1e494189d52.jpg

This is the final result, now finished, now let's continue, for the arms, the flowers of the breasts and the left leg, the procedure is the same as I have already explained, now we go for the false garter belt and the right leg.

This is going to be the image I'm going to use.

5a7af3a8934e6_creandofalsoliguero.thumb.jpg.c0953a2061c3afe80e3c3c38a0f96910.jpg

5a7af3d905fda_creandofalsoliguero2.thumb.jpg.10617768ff2d6a0ebc56c343109f0f89.jpg

To create it, the first thing is to give the desired size, we will use the reference lines that we created at the beginning, all four, since they delimit us the center of back and chest, as well as where the part where the right side overlaps ends, and that is cut, is why normally in the right laso we do not have tattoos that come from the chest to the back, or full right leg.

We will have to paste the image four times, two to the left, two to the right, we will adjust and leaving only the layers of the false league we create the alpha channel, it is explained as it is created a little higher, we save as png and check the result in the S4S.

5a7af5a9720c2_creandofalsoliguero2s4s1.thumb.jpg.9e49bea70f74ae0ffc7fe888f5f1103c.jpg

5a7af5d9af41e_creandofalsoliguero2s4s4.thumb.jpg.584e366acbf4f24612661b7a9c8101f2.jpg

The first two images as we can see this mismatch, I have to move a bit to see the joints, the last is the final result, remember that I told you to save the work in PSD format, so we only play with the layers , we do not have to recreate everything, we simply select the desired layer and with the arrows of the cursor we move, in this case I do not remember if it was two millimeters, a silly thing, but that makes it look ugly.

Let's go for the right leg

5a7af749b034e_Piernaderecha.thumb.jpg.e2b1aa91bb0a9e7ff00e65de179f6b29.jpg

This is the start image

5a7afaa2de45d_piernaderecha01.thumb.jpg.8d8b731cd359da91677464aace084dd2.jpg

As you can see, the image is bigger, there is no problem, as we are using reference lines, we are going to use the square tool to select the image that will be visible in that area.

5a7afb97887b6_piernaderecha02.thumb.jpg.7777708007cc00abc21ee790b7cc38ea.jpg

Copy and paste in the start image, if you look right now I have two layers, the initial image as layer1 and layer 2 is the one that I just copied from the work, we will adjust the images to match using the cursor arrows.

5a7afc1a84c81_piernaderecha03.thumb.jpg.658bf62a5ead3ba8bb75ce6c7c46c35a.jpg

Using the square tool and being in layer 2, we will select from left to right the area that we need in the right leg, you will see that it will mark a red line when you reach the limit.

We copy the selection and paste it into our work, we have to move it to the right to find the back of the right leg, it has to look something like this.

5a7afd18bf963_piernaderecha2.thumb.jpg.eb8da5403d3faa73e0ac0701ebbdb07c.jpg

Now we are ready, to create the alpha channel of all the work.

For my part I end this tutorial, I need to investigate how to tattoo the head and make a tattoo that passes from the chest through the arm and back, when I discover it, I will continue.

I hope you liked it and it was useful.

As promised, here is the package with the fullbody completed.

This is a great topic...but boy it was so much easier in the Sims 3...

Of the sims 3 I remember little, since I lacked the machine to make it work and every two times it was hung, the only one that I have arrived to make some modifications was in the two and it was much simpler, they were also other times and there was not much progress in the 3d development

We need a Tutorial/modder ressource section or this kind of thread will be lost.

If you could add a tag to your thread: tutorial or something like that,it might be easier to find it again

Thanks for your interest, now I change the title to the thread

Basically with the Sims 3 all you had to do was create the actually image you wanted as a tattoo, layer it and then export it into a tattoo package via a simply fanmade program called tattooier.  You didnt have to mess around with body texture, placement, or S4S.
