I noticed that there are multiple mods and add on that enchance the graphic of the world, etc.

But no specific guide on which one to use, so here is one that will hopefully be helpful to you.

 

If I make any mistake, or you can think of better replacement, please let me know, and I'll Update/change it asap.

I would say, using Qarl's Texture Pack 2+Other will get you the best Graphic with framerate.

What is it?

It is an High-Rez texture replacement for Oblivion.

It replaces, Architeche, Rocks, Landscape and Clutters.

Produced as part of The Oblivion Texture Overhaul project, these LandscapeLOD texture packs are separated into two groups:

 

BT - color maps from BTQ landscape Lods (Blade9722's LandscapeLODs based on Better Tiling Qarl project). The BT set includes 1024x1024 and 512x512 versions (Blade9722 already made 4096x4096 and 2048x2048 versions).

 

QN - normal maps from Qarl's LOD normals 4096 compressed (Qarl's LandscapeLOD normal maps). The QN set includes 2048x2048, 1024x1024, and 512x512 versions (Qarl only released the 4096x4096 version).

 

You can use the BT and QN versions together since since BT only alters the color maps and QN only alters the normal maps. Pick one of each.

 

These reduced versions will NOT have the same quality as the originals. If you're not worried about performance, you should use the originals instead of these.

 

Another Option, if you wish to improve LOD, but not lose Ram, etc.

You can use an alternate Noise Filter with an 512*512 LOD

MrMuhs & RPG-BlackDragons Dynamic Depth-of-Field could be viewed as an expansion to Qarl & Timeslips Depth-of-Field mod and it is compatible to MrMuhs and RPG-BlackDragons Waterrefraction.

The new effect of the dynamic DoF (omg-dynamicDoF.esp) is the adjustment of the blur-distance to the view-distance. In other words:

Look at near objects and the screen will be blurred little more behind it, look at far distances and the blur-range will increase until it finally disappears. There is also another version in this archive (omg-staticDoF.esp), which is nearly similar to Qarl & Timeslips DoF, but the blur-effect also disappears when looking in the distant. Do not activate both esp's at the same time!.

AWLS is an illuminated window system that has three goals:

 

1) Add illuminated windows to all vanilla building meshes in such a way that also allows all mods using vanilla buildings to also have illuminated windows without the need of patches.

 

2) Allow the player to choose to have the lights on 24/7, at night only, or also during rainy weather. The player can pick what option is best for him or her by using one or none of the three included plugins (medium and advanced plugins require OBSE v14 or higher).

 

3) Add smoke effects to all chimneys if desired.

Nice guide, would have liked this when I was trying to figure it all out, so I'm sure it will help people.

 

For RAEVWD, I recommend not to activate the Imperial City plugin unless you really can't do without. It adds stuff which is mostly hidden behind the IC walls from almost any perspective. Only place I found it actually visible was from Aleswell. Not worth the performance hit in my opinion.

 

Also, I'm missing weather mods on the list. I'd recommend All Natural for that. Having the interior light change over the course of the day, and being able to see the sky out the windows, I couldn't do without anymore. It does require Wrye Bash, but anyone serious about modding Oblivion should use that anyway.

the only god thing of OGBE its the OBGE liquid water. other than that, i consider it crap. i compared graphics with bloom + AA + mods and i get amazing graphics. OBGE + custom shaders + forced AA = CTD's, black screens, horrible shapes. i liked the borderlands style graphics with OBGE but i get bored of it in a few days. i still use the old OBGE 1 with my AA and everything run smooth and fine.

I got the same feelings about OBGEv2. Never liked it as much, yeah there are some pretty DOF options, but the thing I disliked is that I can't use AA on it. Yeah it has its own AA plugin, but it's such a resource hog and doesn't even look that good. I sticked with OBGE1.

Have you try OBGEv3 with Liquid Water? My screen turn black if I enable any SSOA or AA effect.

 

Actually, I'm currently using OBGEv3+Liquid Water.

I'll get some screenshot in a bit.

 

I don't have any black screen problem.

Are you by chance using a Nvidia card?

the black screen its fixed by changing the option in the nvidia control panel to let the 3d application decide. if u change that option ull get a black screen. if still have issues try the black screen fixes find on the nexus. and if u dont have a nvidia card then i dont know what could be.

i decided to give a new chance to obge3 a few days ago and so far everything run well, the graphics are nice and the godrays and effects the shaders add give another level of immersion to the game. still, sometimes i miss bloom, but when i see the water i remember why i choose obge.

I used one of the Sun Glare mods. I don't remember which one I used.

Just search Sun Glare on Tesnexus' date=' there's many varation.

 

Decided to install All Natural and tweaked my OBGE setting a bit.

Still trying to get the blur to work right..XD

1) Is it possible to add some kind of ambient light to oblivion so that every screen shot looks like "lovely dress"? With no light source, skin looks worse than plastic.

I thought about a screenshot thread. But can't decide whether to make it a OBGE screenshot or just a Pretty Scenery screenshot.

 

But I'm not sure about Ambient light, unless you get or create a accessory with constant light on(Possible?) your best bet is to use this mod.

Or tweaking OBGE..I know there's an settting in the Oblivion.ini to make night..brighter.

 

2. You can set the time how long each eather last in allweather.ini, So I don't like foggy and overcast, I set them to last only 1 hour.

 

The other thing is when I want ot take screenshot, I change the weather with the console.
