So many crashes.

I've been unable o play the game due to too many crashes, especially when nearing Whiterun and entering the Hall of Countenance at the College of Winterhold.  I know this is due to script heavy mods.  Which mods should I deactivate and which mods are safe?  I use the normal version of SOS, I recently found out it's script heavy.  Should I use it or should I use Better Males erect version by FavouredSoul?

I really want to keep the Undeath mod since I am playing a necromancer, and of course I want to keep Sexlab and it's assorted addon's.

Removing Violens will lighten the load somewhat.. also make sure to use the xpmse skeleton for RSchildren.  That helps a bit.

I will try that, thank you.  But the crashes occur on fresh new game, when nearing Whiterun.  Or when I use the Alternate Start mod and start at the College of Winterhold.  It crashes when I enter the Hall of Countenence.(sp?)

Okay, it seems the ENB Boost helps.  I no longer crash when nearing Whiterun.  But now the game randomly freezes, forcing me to manually shut down the pc which I hate doing in order to restart.

ENBoost needs settings which partly depend on your hardware & OS, partly on what mods you're using... i'm not an expert in this, google for a tutorial which settings you should check.

Crash fixes might help as well, and it will give you a warning if the SKSE memory patch isn't running.

 

Those three reduced my freezes from 2-3 times a week to 1-2 times in a month. And if you're using MO, there is a "workaround" for that reboot: start a download from Nexus and pause it. When you hit the reboot button, Windows will close Skyrim but ask if you really want to close MO because of that unfinished download. Click cancel and you can start the game again without reboot.

Thank you for the reply.  I've installed ENB Boost and it's required files correctly, but when I try to launch the game through SKSE it crashes.  If I try to launch it normally without SKSE it launches, but I have mods that depend on SKSE.  I've tried trimming down the load order, but am still having the problem.  I will try again and see if it works.
