prinyo Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Seems there is a confusion about porting assets between the games. I asked about this on Bethesda's forum. The reply says that "It is perfectly acceptable to convert Skyrim mods to Skyrim SE. We ask that you not port over unmodified art assets from one game to the other. So it’s fine to convert a recolored frost troll, but it wouldn’t be acceptable to release the vanilla texture from Skyrim or Skyrim SE in the other game." tl;drBethesda thinks it is OK to use assets from Oldrim in SSE provided there are modifications made to them.
Kaz Aanh Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 tbh I don't really care not gonna use beth net anyways
rahrahrah Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Are there actual reworked meshes and textures in SSE?
setohayato2 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Are there actual reworked meshes and textures in SSE? not really
ousnius Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Are there actual reworked meshes and textures in SSE? Not really reworked, but the mesh format has changed completely. Not the content of the meshes, but the format of the NIF.
prinyo Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 tbh I don't really care not gonna use beth net anyways It's not about beth net. Nexus, LL and other sites will not allow mods that are against the rules. And while Bethesda's answer doesn't really explain if they think the 2 Skyrims are different games or not, it does give us a practical and usable explanation on what is allowed to do.
