Looting Torsos?

Alright, so I don't know what else to do here but, sometimes when my character loots an enemy body, their torso disappears. An it's always just their torso. An sometimes I can loot the same armor set from another enemy and not get the same effect. So I'll post my mod list an maybe someone can find something?

Sounds like conflicting meshes or missing meshes. Maybe you have two of the same type of mod activated and its overriding something or conflicting to null

Depending the mods and what they do, so if an armor is sculpted a certain way and the body does something else, bugs happen. That's my guess atm. I want to say it has something to do with dismemberment.

Do all the characters you loot bug our or certain ones?

Nope, cause I can decapitate someone and this won't happen. An it literally only takes place after the body is looted. If I don't loot the body nothing changes and they look normal and what have you.

okay, that's good. you've narrowed it down to female body types and eliminated the armor as a suspect (hopefully; silly skyrim) ...let's narrow the list down further: attempt to find out if it's a specific race. That way we can start looking at your mod list (thanks for that, btw) for the culprit

So, Apparently I was mistaken. Because it sometimes happens to males too. But after doing a quick test run against bandits I can say that Scale, Leather and Fur armors are the main problem it would seem.

don't get disheartened though. i'm merely trying to make diagnostics easier for myself, but of course skyrim isn't being very cooperative

It's all quite understandable. I think it might be that my 'Immersive Armors' is conflicting with one of the 'slooty' variants I have in queue. But I am not sure. :x

you really should post a list of your current mods. i'm assuming manual install? if using MO look for "modlist.text"

meh. which is why i'm trying to be deliberate in my troubleshooting instead of coming up with one liners like that one. hard to resist though.

It's all quite understandable. I think it might be that my 'Immersive Armors' is conflicting with one of the 'slooty' variants I have in queue. But I am not sure. :x

you really should post a list of your current mods. i'm assuming manual install? if using MO look for "modlist.text"

no doubt. okay, so ignoring the very irritating issue of not being able to isolate which sex/race is giving the symptoms, let's focus on your modlist for possible (and i mean totally wild ass guesses) causes...and just plain stuff you shouldn't have.

The TBBP animation of Dragonfly with butt bounce - doesn't play with with others. recommend removing as it has conflicts (can't be specific since i forget which but it's not worth it...besides you already have sexy move and it's MCM is awesome, isn't it?)

I love cleavage + remodeled armor (mak07+CT77's) ...three vanilla replacers?!?!!?! all active as replacers?

HDT breast and butt physics ...never trusted it (havok objects are just plain annoying to see as loot)

Glorious Perspiration ...total speculation but this may be the cause...i highly doubt it but worth a try (i never could get sweat to work)

Non-sexlab animation pack (non sequitur i know; it's just that the SLAL packs for sexlab animation loader make this obsolete)

I will try going down the list then and see what works and not.

As for the armor replacers, it's tough. Cause some of the replacers have varients that look better then ones in other packs.

Like one has a nice leather armor, but the other has a nicer steel armor and so on.

An hat do you havok objects as loot? :x

I'll probably try 'Glorious' first since that seems to be what you're leaning too.

When it happens, what body slot armor are you looting? Torso armor? Hands? Feet? And does it only occur on certain races (e.g. humanoid vs. khajit vs argonian etc)?

First impression is this sounds like an issue with the body mods installed. If the torso disappears when looting the torso armor, it makes it a stronger case. Torso armors contain a body mesh in them so it will look fine when wearing the armor. When torso armor is taken off, the character will then use the installed body mod. If that isn't installed correct for that race and gender, it can result in issues.

well, did you happen to switch between manual install and MO at some point? you might have loose files of some kind buggering up the system.

Only used manual install for SKSE an FNIS.

If I need to manually install I download the file, then find it with MO's file search an add feature. So, I really shouldn't have any loose files.
