Need help with Load Order and Mod List

Hello everyone.  I need help with possibly my load order and maybe my mod list.  Mod Organizer has me at 252 mods.  This includes Requiem for the Indifferent and a merged patch for TES5 Edit.  I sort my load order with Loot.  I also make sure to open Loot to look for any potential issues as well as updating the master list whenever I do that.  I also clean all mods with TES5Edit only when Loot instructs me to.  I believe I have followed Gamer Poets' STEP project to the letter with the exception of Wyre Bash.  I haven't really used that.  I also run FNIS when required and I generally look at all mod requirements before installing (I say generally because I could always have missed something).  I also want to point out that the entire mod list was downloaded in the last 7-10 days so unless something was updated in that time, these should all be the latest on Nexus or here.

 

I'm posting my load order.txt file from Mod Organizer so you can see my mods as well as the load order.  Here is some stats about my mod list and some things I'll mention that maybe will help better understand what I'm doing in case someone doesn't have the patience to browse my whole list.

 

I'm not sure if I have some unnecessary mods here and looking over the list, I feel I may have to compromise and get rid of some of the mods that fall under that list.  My issue has been that I am randomly CTDing.  I can't load open world saves, only ones inside buildings.  I can get around that by doing one of two things: either starting a new game or loading one of my early saves after new game (which takes less time).  Once I have done those, I can then load any of my latest saves, including open world saves.

 

I have Requiem, Hunterborn, Frostfall, and iNeed in my list (plus all their required patches and pre-requisite mods).  I have the aMidianBorn set of mods.  I use RealVisionENB and also followed GamerPoets directions on that as well.  I also run Civil War Overhaul and Populated Skyrim HELL Edition.

 

I use CBBE and RaceMenu.  I have about 42 follower mods if I counted right.  Around 5 of them are multi-follower mods (the ones that come with up to 5 followers). I have about 5 or 6 new lands mods (Death Mountain 1 & 2, BlackLand, etc.) and I use the Immersive Wenches and related Wench mods plus I also have the Bijin replacers.  That should cover most of what I have for those that don't want to read my list.  Sorry for the wordy post.

Probably exceeded 3.1 GB of memory at times ....

You don't need When Vampires Attack with Requiem (vamps don't attack villages with Requiem) so there is one esp you can get rid of.   I'd look into Run for Your Lives too. I seem to remember something ages ago about it screwing with Requiem, but that may no longer be the case because it was a long while back and Requiem has had a few updates since. Just double check to be sure.   

 

But, you're stuffing a huge amount of new NPCs into your game. HUGE. You're going to have to make some cuts. I agree with brandet. You're running out of memory and one of the reasons has to be the amount of creatures and NPCs you have running around in there.

 

The first thing I'd cut is follower mods. Pick one or two that you really like and dump the rest. With that many added followers, you have to be getting conflicts somewhere because most follower mods use the same handful of locations, usually. Your inns must be interesting!

 

Then look at population mods. Choose a couple you like and use those. 

 

As far as I can tell, your load order looks great. I do love a pretty Requiem load order. You're just cramming way too much in there.

So I'm not in front of my computer where I have all this installed, but I believe I have since gone through and deleted a good many of my mods and compromised with what I had.  That's before reading this post btw.  I haven't tested it that much but everything has worked so far with the cuts I did make. I did cut down on follower mods, but picking two lol.  That's really hard to do.  I don't know how many I have off-hand but I do think I'm below 20 and of the less than 20 I have, I don't think I have but maybe one of those multi-follower mods.

 

I definitely will consider cutting down on NPCs overall.

 

The one thing that sticks out to me is your comment about creatures.  I didn't think I had too many of those mods.  Glancing at my list and if I didn't miss any, here's the ones I have: Skyrim Immersive Creatures, Prides of Skyrim, Sexlab More Creatures, Dogs of Skyrim.  Unless you see more mods I'm not thinking about, that doesn't seem like it's adding too many, but maybe I'm wrong.  I mean I could part with Prides of Skyrim and Dogs of Skyrim.  There's not too many prides out there but when there is it's a bunch of lions at once and the dogs are everywhere.  So I may at least remove those.

 

I will also take your advice regarding Run For Your Lives and When Vampires Attack.  I saw on the step wiki where it's mentioned so that will be less of a load on my mod list.

For some reason loot seems to place it elsewhere or at least the v8.1 I last used does anyway, currently I manually sort my load order on finding that out the hard way, and spending hours trying to see what the problem was, just to find it was loot placing the esp in the wrong place in the load order.
