What do you look for in a adult game?

#1: An actual game, and not just let's hide twenty porn images behind six thousand pages of boring crap that everyone will just fast forward through anyway and no real game mechanics other than selecting one of two lines of dialog that may or may not have any real effect on what happens next.

 

#2: Sandbox play.  Anything with a fixed end time annoys me.  Anything that says "Get certain number of points in certain amount of time" fails this test.

 

#3: Customization.  This means being able to make female characters that don't always look Japanese.  It's remarkable how many games can't manage to do this one thing.

 

#4: A story-line that doesn't involve me having to play a completely average, unremarkable Japanese college student who despite having the personality & physique of an overcooked spaghetti noodle magically turns into a improbable babe magnet.

 

#5: Keep your incest fetish to yourself, thanks.

 

#6: Female characters that have believable personalities.  Also, female characters who are not embarrassed or ashamed to desire or be having sex.  And no twenty-something year old girls with perfect figures and cantelope-sized breasts who just happen to have saved their virginity for some otaku dork.

Most of this comes down to execution and whether you can make it hot.

 

Rape and Incest. Both of these are socially taboo and illegal. There is also a degree of shame and evil to it. In that, it can be exciting to do wrong and nasty things.

 

Rape is an odd one. Too much feels meaningless of has no effect. On the other hand having hardcore rape that shames the woman is far more exciting to me than just losing and getting violated for instance. It shouldn't be frequent and it should reflect that it is a harrowing experience if possible. Even if the girl is well experienced and has been submitted to such acts numerous times before.

 

I actually think blackmail is often better than out right rape. The problem is blackmail often has corruption levels and starts with fondling, bjs etc. This isn't really how it would work if you have dirt on someone and have the ability to force them to do what they don't want to.

Loli. I am neither for nor against. I actually quite like girls with small physique because I am rather small in frame myself so it kind of evens out but when coupled with child characteristics things get a bit weird and distasteful for me personally. If I must pick a side I would say no to loli but so long as it isn't the only option I won't avoid the game if it is there. It just isn't really my kink.

I see most of us are fine with about two of the fetishes, so it is clear that allowing the player to select what they want will be the better option.

 

 

Writing is bad at the moment, lucky there isn't much need for it in the demos. If I can I will hire a writer if I can't I will find someone to edit it for me.

 

I will keep in mind what every one says, I know that it won't be possible to make a game every one likes but at least playing it won't be a waste of time.

might I suggest, if its feasible for your plot/genre/etc, add mind control over some of the rape stuff, it adds a layer of distance and keeps the 'forced compliance' aspect. Blackmail is another way of doing this.

True the game is my own to tell the story I wan't, the thing is that I wouldn't be making the game if I didn't want to entertain others.

 

Making a game with out considering the players is just pointless, a game unlike a book or movie, doesn't have a ending if the player doesn't play.

 

 

The idea about mind control, is like my own idea on using drugs; it's still rape.

 

I do think you have a point about distancing the player, the thing about monster breeding games are that the events are impossible in our universe. It feels less like rape as you know it will never happen.

True, it's working for the game at least. In the demo I added in some quick items for testing.

 

One is a pheromone power, easy to add gene that can be harvested from most insect DNA, characters are just more attracted to the gene holder. Other characters with the same gene can send each other into a frenzy.

 

Love drug, give this to any one to make them very horny for a while. Giving the drug to a character can be difficult if they don't trust you, if the character is tied up it's easier. The more the drug is used the less it works. The cheapest of the choices.

 

Mind control, this can be done with a device or a hard to gain gene. It doesn't last long and can be used for more than just convincing the target they want sex. This is the more powerful one so it's expensive to use.

It's also the only one not related to a fetish, meaning it can't be turned off.

 

I am also thinking of adding hypnotism. Although against it, as kid I was obsessed with it so I know you can't use it to make someone have sex with you.

The only way that would work is if the other person uses being hypnotised as a excuse to have sex.

The good thing is that if you are fine with most fetishes you will get more content for the game.

 

Gender will be a option: Male, Female and hermaphrodite.

Maybe add in Apache attack helicopter as a joke, Probably not.

 

For the demo you will be male, each release will see more options added.

 

 

Kasumi's rebirth is a lot like the first demo will be. It's the interrogation scene.

My full plan for interrogation is having multiple locations this means you tie them up in a dungeon, pressure them in a interrogation room, romance them in your room and even take them out on a date in the city.

It will depend on what you want to do and what has the most effect on the character.

 

Also the better characters will take more than one session to break, so there will be options based around that too. An example is that a kidnapped person can be treated well or locked up to give different bonuses to the next session.

 

The first demo will only have the dungeon option as I am using it as my test room and to play with the style of graphics.

hehe MC is a fetish for some but Might I suggest that actual MC, one of the top tier varieties? Possibly the one with long term/permanent effects if you are careful with it or do some "questing" to expand its power.

Hypno is always good, sure you cannot force someone to do something they are totally against IRL but when has that stopped the porn industry? Use it as a "poor man's" mind control, limited effect, wears off when you bring them out of the trance. Another option is to combine hypno and MC for long term/permanent effects

Imho: don't do that. While i'm fine with pretty much everything, it pisses me of in porn or games when someone pretends to be raped but happy anyways just to look less weird. Especially in real porn it's ok, probably even necessary to show the actors before/afterwars and that they are ok, but it's quite confusing for me to hear some dialogue like "oh yes, you evil raper, put it in my ass". And even more in games.

Sorry that I don't have any thing to upload yet, work is hectic and switching from Unity to Unreal is both a blessing and a curse.

 

The story and theme and the moment is in limbo, it could change we don't know yet. It won't change the mechanics of the game.

 

The team working on the game has increased from 1 to 3, one of the testers has now taken the responsiblity of writer and researcher; his friend is a software developer and is now the coder for the project.

 

Unreal has allowed us to use physics alongside animations, this does make for some great effects. The downside is even a empty level built with unreal is 200mb when exported as a game.

We will be sticking with Unreal as it is better than Unity in many ways and the size won't be much larger in the end.

 

Unfortunately my normal topology for characters wasn't developed for this kind of animations, also when the legs are spread it bends wrong. I am reworking the topology of the meshes.

Combat has a problem with performance as the rigs where made for closeup one on one scenes. We need to make another rig for combat.

 

The rape thing is fixed for most part with mind control, that is if the player uses it.

 

 

We now actually have less than when I started, as a lot needs to change. Good thing I didn't start any blog. 

At the moment I have no idea when we will get things running, at least I am not working alone any more.

Yeah, I'm with you. I find it really odd. Go look at the nonconsent boards over at Literotica and this is almost all you will find. This concept that every women secretly wants to be raped and will enjoy it. While there are some people like that, it definitely is not the norm.

 

Another thing I see in fake rape are blowjobs. Unless you have an accomplice, it's dumb. There needs to be a second person there, and even then there needs to be some sort of threat to keep her in line, violence against her and such. So I am thinking of making my own adult game and I was wondering what other considered when choosing a adult game to download.

 

I personally don't care about file size, download size, music, or a difficult challenge.

 

I care first and foremost about the sexual content.  Are the girls into it?  Are they hot?  I'm down for pretty much anything except gore, vore, and scat, but only if the girls are enthusiastic.  Rape, slavery, tears, and so forth are a total dealbreaker to me. But, weirdly enough, I find blackmail and guilt sex to be super hot.  

 

I prefer female protagonist(s) so that I can see her go thru a lot of guys.  The promiscuity angle's big for me, especially for lots of guys on one girl at once.  Pregnancy isn't a dealbreaker, but it's not hot at all; let me get creampies and abstain from conception.

 

I want gameplay that's engaging.  I really love, like, Spiral Vortex, but his gameplay is absolute trash for all his games and he fancies himself a game designer, which is very strange.  His hentai is gorgeous and top-tier, so I suffer through really amateur, low-quality gameplay, but unless the game's art is at least that good, I'm not interested.  I don't care what game-type it is, as long as it's possible to just quickly move thru to the sex parts.  I have no interest in grind-fest games and usually try my best to cheat my way thru them if I bother at all.

Hi, first at the moment it isn't clear when we will ever have the demo done, at the moment we only get weekends to fully work on the project as a team.

At the moment we are focusing on a mechanic that really makes the game interesting, however it's a lot harder than we first expected.

Progress is slow.

 

For fetishes we decided on the list you can find on most porn sites, this was decided after listening to some strange fetishes that our researcher found.

All fetishes can be turned off, except for one or two that has to do with the main story.

 

Rape is decided by the player, there are some good awards for not raping to balance it as a game mechanic; because raping acts as a kind of shortcut. In fact our core mechanic has a lot to do with raping and not raping.

There is a limit to the rape I want to say that you can't do any lasting physical damage, that isn't completely true, however there is a limit. Also don't expect realistic rape scenes, we don't plan on shocking the players.

 

I don't want to say to much or make any promises that I can't keep, I can promises that girls who enjoy being raped is going to be as rare as any other fetish.

 

 

The game mostly plays like a sandbox game, with the story advancing when the player decides.

 

Please continue to write your ideas, I do find it useful and it enters our discussions a lot. Besides the info here could also help other developers.
