Crash on loading saves

Hello everyone, running a lot of mods cann be fun but also very buggy. The game worked fine for a moment but now I can't load any saves that I made. here is a part of the log that covered the crash, but I don't know what to do with it.

well your skyrim is pretty much pumped full of scripts, you're using skyre stuff, perkus maximus stuff, and a lot of loverslab much with loads of scripts, 244 mods is huge as well, wyrmstooth is a lot as well, you should try to thin out your mods a bit i think, might help a lot

Yes, like ZelenEagle said there are much script mods ... 

"skyre" and "perkus maximus" should be used only one, perkus It is the successor of skyre (but, in my opinion  skyre is much better) ...

"SL submit" and "SL defeat" should be used only one ... (in my opinion defeat is better).

"frostfall" , "Enhanced Blood textures" are mods with extreme scripts, and I no longer use this mod with some other mods ...

"Locational damage" , "Dead Body Collision" are dangerous mod ...

 

a Warning ... uninstall scripts mods can cause the loss of your save ... but, if no other way ... start a new game .... and I can see more work on your list ...

So ... try these mods before .... and follow the tutorials ...

I am getting similar issues on loading up saves - the longer the save goes on the less likely it seems I am able to load the save. This happened on my prior save too, I hoped I'd fucked something up & starting a new one would fix it (pretty new save), but it doesn't look like it did. Could anyone point out the most likely culprits to get rid of to try to lessen the script load? I don't really feel like I'm running that much, but maybe there's a major problem-child in here.

 

Would it be enough to remove mods & run Save Cleaner to remove those orphan scripts, or would I need another new game? Kinda hoping I don't have to start all over again.

Note that I tried Brandet's suggestion, & was initially optimistic when a save loaded after installing the pre-loader & crash fixes. Unfortunately the very next save I tried to load crashed again.

 

I've tried loading these saves in Save Cleaner & Save Cleaner crashes... perhaps indicative of a bigger problem? It definitely doesn't seem good. This game is only a few hours old, & other than loading saves it's been quite stable so far.

If you did anything Brandet said especially (skse.ini [aka memory patch]) you should allready be fine the prechache killer is only needed if you crash in the character edit menu (race menu)

 

 

SL submit" and "SL defeat" should be used only one

Dosent mather if you use both lol it depnds on the settings only thing important considering this is that only one mod handles the death secnarios

 

"frostfall" , "Enhanced Blood textures" are mods with extreme scripts, and I no longer use this mod with some other mods ...

"Locational damage" , "Dead Body Collision" are dangerous mod ...

This is correct you can use them its up to you, but do you really want to use resources on some blood splatters? its up to you how you use the resources the engine has hardware today is barley a problem

 

if you want to slim your loadorder to reduce script load it makes no sense to just remove rnd mods you dont need you have to remove mods that contain a lot of scripts that are active so things that get triggerd on and of dont really care besides they are cluttering up because you have to many triggered at the time

Mods with cloak spells are heavy ususally these are mods that change or gather info from everything around you in whatever distance most of the mods you use dont sound troublesome, but I also dont know a lot of what you use.

Like you have the cloak spell xxx on you and all actors that register this spell do whatever. You know the mods you installed the best start with mods that fit this "description"

Examples that may help you: creature framework checks every xxx seconds for aroused creatures in the whole cell depending on settings

                                              Frostfall I dont use it, but from my understanding it also periodical checks serval parameters and applys them

just some examples so you know what mods are "heavy" or more heavy then others to dont talk bad about something just look for mods that are active ingame a lot of time not just when triggered they alone may not be a problem, but the bigger the load the more you can save if you remove it so you have to know it yourself.

                                             

Anyway as said do what Brandet said seriously

Cleaning a savegame should be fine, but you never get guarantees especially when you let it do it automatic

Make sure you either use ENB or if you dont want graphical change use ENBboost alone this is a essential like the memory patch

If the game crashes on load as allready said from mainmenu "coc qasmoke" then load your actual savegame is a standart workaround for the crashes

 

 

This if true would be savegame bloat nothing unusual just the short time is unlikley

Its sounds more like your savegames simply get to big this can also happen within an hour as said you have a lot of content mods so how big are your saves? that got not asked or?

 

The papyrus log btw is as you insta crash as usefull as nothing (not meant bad)

 

Offtopic:

If you also expierience crashes ingame you can change some payprus settings, but as said not related to your actual problem you describe here, but if you expierience also ingame crashes more then just sometimes I can give you some settings, but should not be changed if there is no need

Thanks, I will keep what you said in mind. Specifically:

- Will try removing Dead Body Collisions & Enhanced Blood Textures - missed that post, & those are certainly non-essential mods. Frostfall would be a pretty big loss, though.

- Looking into the SKSE ini changes. Will try to get the memory blocks configured right.

- I have been using ENBoost & have done a variety of things to configure it for performance.

- The savegame sizes are consistently ~7MB, with a 300KB SKSE file. The broken saves aren't any larger, & are sometimes smaller. Is this particularly large for an early save file?

Now about SL submit and SL defeat working together would be a waste of plugins (and they are precious in Skyrim).

 

About precache killer, I dont use ECE, but , in the ECE main page says that to access the character creation menu, you need to enter in console "showracemenu", just like racemenu ... so I think this mod is for use with skyrim and mods that change this function in the game, also expands the inclusion of new features !

 

But that's just what I think ! :D

meh, there was a time when i had to make two saves in a row every 2 minutes because my game crashed at every step  in the open world. but i don't mind rebooting. I've done it so much that I now enjoy trying every possibilities with ASLAL and it's addons, plus early game can be more challenging, using the right mods so it's fun enough.

Thanks, I will keep what you said in mind. Specifically:

- Will try removing Dead Body Collisions & Enhanced Blood Textures - missed that post, & those are certainly non-essential mods. Frostfall would be a pretty big loss, though.

- Looking into the SKSE ini changes. Will try to get the memory blocks configured right.

- I have been using ENBoost & have done a variety of things to configure it for performance.

- The savegame sizes are consistently ~7MB, with a 300KB SKSE file. The broken saves aren't any larger, & are sometimes smaller. Is this particularly large for an early save file?

Just as a heads up in case anyone runs across this, it appears the culprit was Scent of Sex. Somebody posted a save corruption issue with that version (1.2a) & the mod author verified it was an intermittent problem with that version, & I had since removed it after narrowing down to that mod & have not had the issues since.

DBC is part of STEP core and has no scripts (unless you count the desintegration spell), and as far as i know it only changes one property of one unanimated object.

Do you know something for a fact about this mod?

Do not get me wrong, i am not saying that your statement is false, i am just curious and would like to know how did you get to that conclusion because it might be useful information.

I confirm.

 

Version 1.2a is hunger for variables (about 15,000) so you can run out of variables in your save game and then crash when you try to restore it.

Next version will solve this problem (or at least reduce it a lot.)

you seem to have 3 problems:

 

1 Script overload:

2: Memory overload:

3: This game will never play right: Due to MCM overload if you exceed to many mcm mods then that will also kill your game playability.

This mode will not break your game, with 1 or 57 hours, but think about it, most people use deadly dragons, and one day appeared three dragons in whiterun ... however, you and the soldiers kill them all ... and all bodies fall on city roads ...then what happens?

 

Stuck ... teleport ... and possible interruption of quest start, due to the body being on top of the marker or blocking doors ...

This mod is for "realism" ... And for realism you can´t move a dragon corpse ... and if you start using the console for disable here and there ... you can make mistakes and break your game ...

 

Also it is very annoying to have to skip the body or change my way every time to go there until the body disappears ...

This is my point of view ....

 

Just to be clear,

I respect the authors and who like the mods that i no longer use, and what I said is for my experience with the game. :) 

So, anyone who wants to continue using the mod(s) or not, go ahead !! ;)

Ah! Now i get your point. Is not because of the scripts, but because of its own nature

 

My bodies (all) dissapear in a few days in game tho, but your explanation is clear, the problem could still show up during the time its laying there

The mod provides a spell to desintegrate bodies (to ashes), now i know why :)
