donotbugme Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Here we go again, I'm testing some scene stuff in the ckit in a fresh mod. Im not having ANY dialogue in my scene. Basically what I understand this to be a problem with not having a SEQ file. so fine I type in the cmd line creationkit.exe -GenerateSEQ:SGS.esp Where SGS.esp is the esp of my new mod. I get the following output from the CKIT MASTERFILE: Could not get file pointer for sgs.esp , aborting automated process. I've never seen this error before. googling it only brings me to a random Nexusmods page for animal followers that does not have any relevance to what im trying to do. Any tips on what I should try next? Is the SEQ file not the issue here?
Guest Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Two points: generate the SEQ file with TES5Edit. Open the esp, right click on it, Other->Create SEQ file. Second: be sure your quest is started. (No idea how your quest should start.)
darkconsole Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Two points: generate the SEQ file with TES5Edit. Open the esp, right click on it, Other->Create SEQ file. this is exactly how i do it too. always works first try for me.
donotbugme Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Turns out launching the same command through steam as a launch option works fine. go figure. I'll need to redownload Tes5Edit, its supposed to be a really handy tool and would make things less painful for things like this. Thanks!
Guest Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 TES5Edit is a mandatory tool when you are creating mods. Good luck with your mod development.
Veladarius Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 If you are doing it through the command line you have to navigate to the folder the CK is in first.
