genericlogin Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 File Name: Christianity Mod r1.3.1 repost File Submitter: genericlogin File Submitted: 09 Dec 2015 File Category: Adult Mods Requires: CK2Â Christianity Mod r1.3.1================ Â Premise-------In its early history the Catholic Church was more heavily influenced by womensuch as Mary Magdalene. As a result, equality is the norm for Catholics. Womencan hold council positions and lead armies without restriction, and may enterthe clergy. This Church's views on sex evolved in the reverse of itshistorical counterpart: lust is a virtue, and chastity is one of the sevendeadly sins. Â Whores are held in high esteem, and clergywomen are very likely to be whores.Incest is accepted as normal, but doesn't have the Zoroastrian devine bloodbelief. Concubines are also allowed. Adultery is looked on as generally goodbecause it shows a woman's desirability, but rulers may choose to discourage itin their wives to avoid succession problems. Â Installation------------To install this mod, follow these steps:1. Open your "Documents" folder.2. Locate the "Paradox Interactive" folder within your "Documents" folder and openit.3. Locate the "Crusader Kings II" folder within the "Paradox Interactive" folder andopen it.4. Locate the "mod" folder within the "Paradox Interactive" folder and open it.5. Copy the "Christianity Mod" folder and the "Christianity Mod.mod" filelocated in the same folder as this readme to the "mod" folder. Â You will now see it in the list of mods when you run Crusader Kings II. Â Game Mechanic Changes---------------------I greatly reduced the likelyhood of getting the inbred trait, as in real lifethe danger of inbreeding comes from harmful recessive traits, which is alreadyhandled by normal inheritable trait mechanics. The remaining low probabilitysimulates multiple bad recessive traits that wouldn't individually merit a gametrait eventually adding up. Â I lowered the age of marriage to 12, as it was in medieval Europe, because I'mnot selling this and therefore don't need to give lip service to Victorian erabeliefs. The age of adulthood for purposes of guardianship and regency ending iscurrently set at 16, as the idea of education lasting until 16 is deeplyembedded in the game. Â Absolute Cognatic succession law is available for all Catholics, even tribes.Basque titles start with it, but other titles still use their default successionlaws. Â Compatibility-------------This mod requires version 2.4.5 or higher and the expansions other than SunsetInvasion. It works fine with the Your Personal Castle mod, which is recommended, and with Better Looking Garbs. It's playable with the Dark World mod, althoughyou can expect some glitches as both this mod and Dark World are decended fromthe same mod. Â Includes--------This mod was inspired by and is derived from nadamod, which in turn uses VIET,Your Personal Castle, and Duel Engine. Nadamod also used a custom map and a lawmod which are not included here. I've separated out the files from Your PersonalCastle as well--anyone wishing to use that mod should install the regularreleased version. Â Known Bugs----------* Free investiture is hardcoded to only allow men to be nominated assuccessors. This is a known limitation which Paradox will hopefully change.* Only men can take concubines. This is a hardcoded limitation that I can't doanything about.* Some characters are created as adults by the game engine and can't be moddeddirectly. The event that gives women their curves will trigger for women createdthis way eventually, but it can take up to six months. This is for performancereasons, and I may adjust the frequency later.* Catholic rulers get the "liege is jain" opinion modifier with their vassals, which greatly increases realm stability. This is an engine bug that gives theopinion modifier based on a religion's "pacifist" parameter being set to "yes",as it is for Catholicism in this mod. In the base game, Jain is the onlypacifist religion. Abraxis00 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Now that the big Conclave patch has been out for a little bit, I just wanted to check in and see if you were still working on an update for this mod. Â Obviously don't want to rush you or pressure you or anything, but I've had some good games with this mod, and would be eager to see it continue to be supported.
Abraxis00 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Good to hear! Â Looking forward to having a Whore on the Papal Seat again someday. Â Thanks for all your hard work.
JJDemon Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Yes, there will be an update. Â Any known ETA on when the update will be? More for my own curious nature.
genericlogin Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 I'm testing it now, so unless any unexpectedly complicated bugs show up it should be done in the next few days.
zhali Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 For me the game has always insta-crashed or never worked with Christianity mod, either I've always updated faster than the mod, or it's never working for me. xD
genericlogin Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 The instant crashing happens when a mod overrides defines.lua and a new CK2 patch changes the file. The patch for Conclave introduced folder loading for defines, so (hopefully) that won't happen any more after the next update to the mod.
genericlogin Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Sadly, I did encounter a problematic bug. No idea how long it will take me to figure out.
Abraxis00 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Keep at it -- we're all cheering for you! Â Hopefully it'll be less serious than it seems.
genericlogin Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 It's one of those bizarre things that crops up with CK2 modding. There's an event in the mod that's responsible for giving women their breast traits when they turn 16 and seeing if they qualify to be AI whores. It's called from a bunch of places, including two on_actions: startup and adulthood. The bug is that for some reason it's not actually firing for the on_adulthood action.
Jack Archer Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I think they actually changed how adulthood works in conclave
genericlogin Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 I think I figured it out. It looks like Paradox changed the way on_adulthood is implemented in the engine. It used to be that when events were triggered that character had just turned 16, but now they're not 16Â yet. I had been using a check for the character being an adult as a condition for the event as a precaution in case it was accidentally triggered early, and because of the engine change at the instant the event ran.
genericlogin Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Nope, not yet. I think I know how to work around that annoying Paradox change, but haven't had a chance to do it yet.
