Question: Translator for J-RPG games

Hi folks.

I've been playing J-RPG games for some time now, and since I don't understand a word of japanese writing at all, I usually find myself stuck in those games, even though the next objective is written right in front of my eyes.

However, I'm made to believe that there are some 3rd party translator programs that can translate those RPG Maker -games even while playing, but there are so many different kinds of them available that I'm at loss of which one to choose that is the easiest and most noob-friendliest to use.

So I'm relying on this community for some advice for the matter.

Hmm, it's all in russian (or is it? I can't tell) and google translator refuses to cooperate with me,

But thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out.

Let me see...

You can use this

Translation Aggregator 0.4.9.r171.rar

to hook into the program and let it use google translate.

It may or not require this: agth.rar.

Finally I also use ATLAS english-japanese diccionary V14.

I seem to have some trouble uploading it. If you want to use it search for ATLASV14ETrial.exe there should still be a dowload available in Hongfire.

Note that you have to change your date to pre-2005 to intall the program.

I use Chiitrans Lite for this, google it and you should find a tutorial on how to set it up with ATLAS.

The contexts you care about when hooking it up to an RPGMaker game are 3 labelled GlyphOutline. Deselect the rest and change the settings from Smart Filtering to Ignore New Contexts or Chiitrans will drown your translation box with garbage and slow your computer down like mad.

You can often hook JRPGs the same way you might hook an eroge for PC, the same tools work for everything, I prefer a combo of a modified version of ITH, along with translation aggregator, and an ATLAS dictionary from hongfire, but there are multiple ways you can do it.
