I finally finished modding my Oblivion with 150+ mods and surprise, surprise I'm having lots of issues actually playing the game, foremost of which is a ctd on starting a new game. The crash happens only on trying to start a new game; when I use a clean save downloaded from the net everything works fine. Any ideas?

One sure way to avoid this is to "slowly" build your game.  Install 5-10 mods and then test by starting a new game.  It helps you find and kill issues before they get out of hand.

 

Since you are way beyond that point......start looking at possible conflicts and duplicates.  One I was able to spot right off the bat:

++  MaleBodyReplacerV5.esp

82  SetBody.esp

Duplicates like this can cause all kinds of havoc.  Remove MaleBody and then you will need to rebuild your bashed patch.  Look for others as well.

 

I "think" this is also a duplicate:

89  x117race.esp
++  x117Race ENG Race.esp
I think you are only supposed to use one.  Check the install instructions.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know that about malebodyreplacer and setbody, but are you sure about the two x117 esps? They're both a part of mbp all in one (the instruction for it aren't great).

x117Race ENG Race.esp is actually needed (the ++ is a WB designation of a required merge) with the original x117race.esp, otherwise it will display Japanese (or Chinese) race names.

 

You can, if you have TES4Gecko merge x117Race ENG Race.esp into the original x117race.esp and replace it, and then disable and remove x117Race ENG Race.esp altogether. That is what I did.

I've deleted malebodyreplacerv5.esp and x117ENG.esp and, after deactivating all lovers/tamago mods, rebuilt my bashed patch. No dice. Still the exact same trouble. Now, I'm gonna try deactivating mods en masse and see what happens.

 

Edit: Made some progress, maybe. Activating plugins a few at a time, I've found that when DiabloEF 6 in 1.esp is activated it always causes crashes on new game start. Investigation ongoing. . .

I fixed it! Well, mostly. . . DaibloEF 6 in 1.esp was the culprit of all the crashing, so I got rid of it (pretty disappointing). I have a new problem now though: When I use manual mode in LAPF as required by Lovers with PK Extender I can't end animations. Orgasm is impossible. Sorry to ask for help again but does anyone have a solution? (Maybe I should post in the LAPF technical support section.)

Load order, load order, load order. Can't help much without seeing that.

Also make sure you have set it to manual with jump key and not during rape (ie no control when being raped).

Then hit the jump key to progress.

Odds are you were missing resources. Try using this one: Diablo Elf 6 in 1 Big Update by SWBM, 7 May 2013.omod

This is one of the few .omod files I still use and it all works fine with no CTDs experienced to date.

Thanks for the help vareene but seeing how Diablo Elves race is the final issue between me and playing the game I've decided to just give up on it. I'm already using the version you linked and I did install everything for sure (manually compared each mesh and texture folder), though I'm using the custom race fix included in the UOP rather than a discrete esp. I both used BOSS and made sure the load order matched the one on the MBP AIO page.

 

In any case, I'm just gonna give up on it for now. Sorry!
